When I was in high school (class '07) it was the school staff and the student gov. that liked rap and would play it, but most everyone would've preferred better music (60's, 70's, 80's Rock). He truly stands the test of time, and he has grown and evolved throughout his career. I watched (and listened to) the show INTENTLY. In my opinion, he did NOT lip synch. His voice stood out too much for that. It SOUNDED live.
I also noticed how GOOD the band sounded. The sound crew deserves a big atta boy for that. Very difficult to do.

Man, you should have seen Stevie Ray Vaughn play. Check out you tube for some of his performances. He can play the guitar behind his back. He was awesome. The world lost a great musician when he died.

I won't argue whether Petty's or Prince's music is better because I love both their music. But there's no denying Prince's performance was much more visually exciting.
