I doubt that nature discovered this rather than we discovered that nature uses this as a base for efficient design. I have my doctrine in particle physics and the phi ratio has profound implication within in its system when applied to classical observation. But phi is of order and has no place as far as our understanding goes when applied to chaotic systems

PHI is the ratio of Aether to angular momentum at the second cycle.

PHI is the result of quantum spin, think of a spirograph. Imagine the outer ring as the aether, which is a rotating magnetic field which has a quantum spin of 2. This encapsulates angular momentum which has a quantum spin of 1/2 and makes matter which is the inner ring. Now start rotating the inner ring.

This ratio between the two creates PHI at the second cycle and as you continue you get the wonderful flower like designs.
