  • why the stupid music why not tell us whats going on

  • wow! are they still transmitting?

  • is that legal?

  • The vk3rtv site says "There are no regular transmissions at this time. due to the failure of the sound on the repeater." does this mean it's not running at all?

  • My stb's manual search has a field called "Bandwidth", in which is has the options 6, 7 and 8 Mhz. To recieve vk3rtv providing it's transmitting and I could actually recieve it, which bandwidth do I select?

  • Well done.

  • It's nice, it's great that it's on air - but as my set top box (Teac DV-B300) does not tune the new 3RTV - and as I can get the analogue 3RTV with ease, I can not see this as an unqualified success. My interest isn't sufficient to specifically buy another set top box just for 3RTV - Chris VK3AML.

  • Hi, thanks for posting this - sadly I was out of Melbourne on a video job so I didn't get to see this history being made - but I'm looking forward to the next test - and I'll let you know if I can tune in!

  • thanks videbus for the link to this video. How is it that amateur TV can get onto digital but not community TV?!? Also what channel are these broadcasts going out on?

  • The centre frequency is 446.500mhz I haven't seen it on my own boxes yet though.

  • Well I had no luck receiving test transmission number 2, so I guess I won't see VK3RTV again. Ah well.....!

  • You will see it again once the controller is modified and the Dvb-t transmitter is installed permanently in about 6 weeks time.

  • From what I can see most STU's have tuners that can work at 446Mhz but the firmware only searches the Aust band plan and so the UHF band starts at 470Mhz.. My little USB unit on auto scan only searches the Australian band but in manual freq entry allows me to enter the required freq. Someone said the Chinese UHF band covers the required freq's so if you can set your unit to scan a chinese band plan that may work! Hope this helps.

  • One more thing. As far as I can see the tuner in most Dig STU's are capabable of working at 446Mhz. Problem is the firmware only tells it to search the Asut band plan and so starts UHF search at 470mhz. My usb device is like this however it lets me enter the required freq manualy. Someone said the Chinese band plan includes 446mhz so if u can tell ur box that its in China that may work.

U need a box that can be told to scan by country or manual freq entry

  • Hi Yes its me . How have you been? The unit I used is a twinhan alpha. Its a usb dongle type The strange thing is that its uhf coverage starts at 470 mhz according to its specs on the net yet I was able to enter a 440 to 460 search range and it accepted it and found 3rtv.Hope this helps..

  • Hi Joe is this you ?

what was the usb device you are using ?

    cheers
