  • i am austrian so i speak german and i am sorry to say but these long words are just hularious... its partly true that we put togeter words to one long word but before we use a word that long we devide it again and make a sentence out of it. its true that we can do that and these words still make sens but no one does it exept when he is making it on purpose to be funny or something...

ps: sry for my bad english XD

  • for the last one, i thought you were going to give some fact like "when we sleep, our jaws reflexively clamp shut" to make all arachnophobics feel better, then you just basically told them that they swallow way more than that, it took a while to stop laughing.

  • The last one made me subconsciously gulp.

  • For the last one, people swallowing spiders in their sleep has never been recorded.

  • trolololololololo for the last one

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • The reason that the blood in your syringe is red is because it was oxygenated in your body... by breathing... Bloodcells are a brownish/purpley colour until they become oxygenated. This is why when you pack a bunch of meat together, the middles turn brown (lack of oxygen) but if you separate them, they turn red/pink again.

  • I had to laugh so hard at the german words, so true!

  • Loved the Come to Somalia part

  • I wonder how many people will believe the last one haha

  • I was having such a nice time watching this till you mentioned spiders. Now I want to die.

  • Far too low an estimate??? :( I may never sleep again!

  • wait... what? D:

  • @jamison53751 wow not eow sorry for my bad spelling

  • I like the twist at the end with the spiders where you say.... (I wont spoil it for comment peepers). It was funny and clever.

  • i will never sleep again

  • Yeah, that last one...I've heard it's false and spiders usually don't go near you as they want to live and you're a giant, living, breathing thing. I did wake with a spider on my face once though.

  • @jamison53751 eow a i maid a lot of typos so let me correct them now,so the light we see the not rhe, we make the light bulbs light ligjt

  • light is a form of energy the law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither created nor destroyer so rhe light we see is not a man maid object ...but in a way it is that we make the ilgjt bulbs

  • @jamison53751 - If you want to get technical, everything is just changed or transformed into something different and nothing is human made.

  • I thought the fan one was because it was cause the temperature to drop to below freezing and you would freeze to death, not take the oxygen out of the room. Either way, wrong

  • @porjaymaspazzatron fans don't cool the air they juts whirl it around the opposite is true cuz fans are powered by electricity => not 100% efficiently => they warm up the room a bit

  • @spinnenente Yeah I know all that, I originally heard the myth differently

  • @CGPGrey no. 8 its not a myth....because it was NEVER about the volume of the brain...it was about MENTAL POTENTIAL ....only dumb ppl think its about 10% of the volume

...on wikipedia ...it says that William James said that humans only use a FRACTION of MENTAL POTENTIAL...the percentage is unknown....so it may be 10% ...more or less

...so...its a fact for retards that ppl use 100% of their brain volume...because it was never debated...

..big difference brain VOLUME vs brain MENTAL POTENTIAL

  • Your videos are cool and you should feel cool.

  • Actually you don't swallow spider's in your sleep. Or at least that's what I've read. A columnist from PC Professional posted it online to prove that you could make up anything, put it on the internet, and people would believe you.

  • @betholomew314159 My sister's english teachers mom swallowed a spider or breathed it in or something while she was asleep and it was still alive and laid eggs inside her head, she had to get it removed with surgery, it's a really gross story when you think about them if they hatched. So yeah she did sallow it in her sleep.

  • i love this dudes vids...who said you dont learn by watching videos

  • 3:07 Starcraft!!!

  • I hate you for the last one. Jerk. Actually, I don't hate you, but meh. I'm arachnaphobic so meh. Just. Meh.

  • if you are bear grylls 8 spiders is your breakfast -.-

  • Fifth Element Reference <3

  • asshole

  • Anyone else notice the starcraft HQs in south korea? xD 3:05

  • I would have preferred you lie to me about the last one. :(

  • That spider picture ....

im wearing a gasmask when i sleep from now on.

  • @TheMadDogClanMD ahahahhaa so do i :D

  • Eight spiders is a low estimate? Ewwww!

  • Love the Nexus in South Korea @ 3:07

  • I never see 8 spiders in my house in a year let alone managing to eat that many :)

  • @Rezzour same

  • In a sealed room, running a brushed motor will deplete oxygen. Brushed motors arc, and arcs create ozone. Ozone is highly poisonous. Whether your own CO2 or the ozone created by a motor will kill you first, who knows.

  • The last one is a myth: people move in their sleep in response to internal and external stimuli so 1) spiders (and bugs in general) move away from large, wiggling masses that could possibly crush them and 2) ppl are too sensitive (especially the older you get) to allow a bug to crawl over our very sensitive faces, into our mouths without waking up. Debunked.

  • HAHAHA, did you put starcraft bases on South Korea!!!!!????????????????. I found your subtle sense of humor especially for young people extremely valuable

  • My parents always warned me about the fan. Now I can sleep with no fear of dying lolz

  • Aww man. I thought he was going to say that you won't swallow any spiders, then he hits us with that bombshell.

  • I'm gonna keep my mouth shut now

  • I don't like spiders.... Now I don't like sleeping, thank you very much cgpgrey...

  • The 10% brain myth. THANK YOU! Have been trying to convince people of this for YEARS

  • wow.. the last one makes me feel... utterly sad

  • I thought the last one was gonna make me feel better and you were gonna say it was less...... now i feel worse >.<

  • @SuperDuperPayne You should watch the "Looking for Lisa Holst" reply video if you want to know more about that last myth.

  • @SuperDuperPayne

wahahaha i think people liking this comment are just trolling you ahahaha

  • @SuperDuperPayne also, bed bugs (if you have them) crawl all over you when you sleep.

  • Cracking your knuckles doesn't cause arthritis, but it is known to cause other types of joint damage.

  • What happens if you get overhydrated?

  • @jessicamelia96 You could die.

    or get sick. Very sick.

    It depends.

  • @jessicamelia96 You can die.

  • AHHHHHH Number 1 sleeping with a ski mask from now on

  • Well guess who's sleeping with their mouth closed for the rest of their life.

  • Now that i know the last one is "wrong"..... I may never sleep again.

  • i thouroughly enjoyed this.

except for number 1. that one just scarred me for life.

  • My reaction to #1: "NOOOOOOOO!!"

  • that last one has scarred me for life

  • @23carepackage I know that feel, bro

  • Inuits, yes?

  • @crimson0509 Semi-yes. Eskimoes comprise of two main tribal groups, Inuits and Yupiks. In short, Inuits make up the East and North of Canada, while the Yupiks occupy the majority of Alaska and Russian Siberia (seeing as colonisation began in the East, this might be why Yupiks are lesser known).

  • I liked the Terran Command Center in Korea xD

  • @Vaysm If you looked closely, all three town hall buildings were there.

  • It may not be blue, but veinous blood is darker than arterial blood, a deep maroon-ish purple color, not nearly as bright as oxygenated blood, but still a dark shade of red.

  • I thought the misconception for spiders wasn't a YEAR, but a LIFETIME.

  • ... That #1 entry was evil. Evil. EEEEVIL.

  • mmmmm

    Spiiiderrs

    AGGRRRRAAAAAAAA

  • Anyone above the age of 8 think blood is blue? o.O

Also fuck you for the last one.... I'm not gonna sleep for a while o.o

  • You had to go there with that last one, after watchin this i was gonna go to bed you dick lol.

  • I've been told by my mother that the reason i have terrible circles under my eyes is because i don't drink enough water/get enough sun. Is it true that exposure to sunlight gives you healthier/clearer skin??

  • It's all hanks fult.

  • mmm protein

  • EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • While it is true we don't only use 10% of our brain, brain plasticity makes it so if we did remove a portion the brain could compensate. I'm not sure about the 90% thing... it has been done with 50%

  • rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz.

  • 8 is far too low in estimate BAHAH you goof

  • "8 is far to low of an estimate."

    ARGH! Don't tell me that!

Tell me I don't swallow anything!

  • Am I the only one who took the time to translate all the words at 1:26? Haha

  • Hit 2 five times then say chameleon

  • I was laughing until 3:40. Then I threw up a little. Thanks.

  • De-oxygenated blood (in the veins) is only blood that has off loaded 25% of the oxygen it can carry. So blood in veins wont be noticeably different from oxygenated blood in arteries.

Was he serious about the spiders I cant tell if he was being sarcastic, I'm scared now :( or is he doing this to prove the point about misconceptions?

  • In the last one he's being sarcastic no one swallows spiders in their sleep don't you think you'd notice if something got into your mouth? if someone put food in your mouth while you were sleeping you'd notice and wouldn't just instinctively swallow it.

  • @OrganisedChaos96 i cant tell if your being serious or not....because youd be surprised at how many things one could get away with doing to someone while sleeping.

  • @ClarissaCiao I'm being serious It was an internet myth started ages ago and has NEVER been true.

  • mmmm spiders

  • That last one litraly made my face go D:

  • i sleep with my mouth closed. its not very good i wake up and my mouth is dry as hell and doesnt smell very good

  • NOOOOOO! I cant go to sleep now! D:

  • Wait whatt!

  • #1 is pretty damn scary since most spiders here are poisonous to the nth amount

  • ill now put a net over my mouth and nose now ;_;

  • 3:24

  • mmmmmm protein in my sleep

  • @AngelsBeginningX3 thank you for adding to that mental image

  • @AngelsBeginningX3 MUST! RESIST! MAKING! DIRTY! COMMENT!

  • haha this was brill well put, creeped me out with the spiders though ;)

  • That last one better have been a joke.....

  • @TheAquaBon nope. it's totally true, have fun sleeping ;P

  • yuck

  • 3:07 is my life.

  • Facepalmed when you brought up the notion that government regulation is what causes tap water to be clean. That's a misconception right there.

  • lool1

  • The last fact made me laugh.

I love your videos, keep up the good work.

  • OH DEAR GOD

  • thanks for ruining my fucking life....

  • And now I'm not going to sleep.

  • fuck that...im sleeping with a fukin hotdog in my mouth now!! >:\

  • pssh...i'm not worried bout the last one cause i sleep with the sheet over my face!

  • I was just about to go to sleep...

  • No wonder I not hungry when i wake up i have full course meal every night

  • the last one was perfect :D

  • Hahaha that last one was perfect irony

  • Is that a nexus in south korea?

  • omg the spider drawing OMG THE SPIDER DRAWING YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GIVE THAT BACK!!!

  • I don't know why you insisted on perpetuating the spider-swallowing myth. First of all, not everyone sleeps with their mouth open; second, spiders know damn well that if it feels like they're being breathed on, it means they're probably about to get eaten, so the idea that they'd willingly crawl into your mouth is ludicrous. The only way you'd get a spider in your mouth while you sleep is if one just happened to fall off the ceiling into your mouth, but the odds of that happening are quite slim.

  • I'm sleeping with my face pressed into my pillow from now on.

  • I'm taping my mouth shut tonight

  • @prefuffle KNAWWW? BUT HOW WILL YOU BREATHE!!! HUM NEHHH EEEEEE!!!

  • Are you series about the spiders :(

  • LOL

    Tasty spiders :3

  • I am ok with eating spiders, as long as they don't bit while i a, swallowing them :|

  • Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

now that's German efficiency... sort of...

  • Thanks C.G.P. Grey, I really needed that mental picture. I think I'll sleep with my mouth taped shut from now on.

  • half a litre of water a day is the minimum I have been taught

  • i will now glue my mouth shut at night.........

  • 3:06 haha, I love the starcraft buildings <3 I've always loved you, CGP Grey haha.

Oh, and @ the last one..... I hate you now. XD XD XD XD XD

  • lol @ starcraft buildings on Korean map!

  • D: the last one.

  • I sat there... contemplating... after the last one...

  • OH MY GOD. I now can't recall any of the first 9 because all I can thing of is the idea that 8 is FAT TOO LOW A NUMBER! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!

  • WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME THAT!! NOT COOL! @_@

  • 3:07- Love the Starcraft command centers in South Korea!

  • The 8 glasses a day thing is true. It's just most of the water you should be getting comes from food. So you only need to drink 2-3 glasses a day.

  • i love spiders to death

  • I'm kinda scared to sleep now :S

    ARRRGGGGHHHHH

    *shudders* DX

    I wish I hadn't watched this now T.T

  • People seriously buy bottled water?

    Fuck yes, stockholm

  • It's illegal to sell tap water re-bottled as bottle water, people get caught and companies closed down.

  • @rabbitwho Dasani

  • Blood is red because the erythrocytes (who carry hemoglobin) are red colored. They make the colorless plasma red, thus making the blood red.

  • People died in Canada not too long ago from tap water.

  • took away my smile with that last one....jerk

  • that last one... eaaugh! xP

  • #11 You can not catch a cold from the cold...

  • @wabsab101 whoops it cut the end of your name lol read previous comment x)

  • @wabsab1 aw I know how u feel I think it's more a joke D: though it's probably possible

  • Ahhh wtf i hate apiders and now u just made it worse :(

  • ONE THING YOU MISSED. Tap water can be bad for you, if it is fluoridated. Scientific evidence has shown that this does tons of bad shit. Even lowering overall IQ, making women infertile, and just a host of nasty shit. They would want you to believe it is okay, and good for you.. but it IS NOT. Look it up, thousands of cities have begun stopping this process because there are no real benefits and tons of health risks

  • @toThe9thPower well, maybe. But then imagine how much damage it'd do to the environment if we all drank glacier water all the time. Not all tap water is fluorinated anyway (although natural water contains traces anyway). Depends where in the world you are as to whether extra gets added!

  • @xLostInThisWorldx Uhh I was mainly speaking of America, Australia, and South America, which are the most heavily fluoridated areas. It is BAD for you, literally kills off brain cells and can make a person less intelligent. That is the main reason it is added in the first place. Do you think any government would really want a bunch of super smart people who can figure out just how much they are being fucked? No, they don't.

  • i love the cc, nexus and hatch in south korea

  • i love the cc, nexus and hatch in south korea

  • I learned more from a 4 minute video than I did going to school for 7 hours.

  • misconception..... that ANYONE ever thought that people where talking about a static 10 percent of the brain. the theory is you only use about 10 percent of your brain at any one given time. not that 90 percent of your brain never does anything. now tell em that im wrong.

  • addressing the tap water issue: yes, it is one. I live in melbourne, florida and I had a guy come check out my tape water. he filtered it out and showed me all the crap that was in it.... not good. however you are right in saying many bottled water companies do scam people. filtered tap water is fine.

  • Anyone else recognize the spider at 3:33

  • Europe is not a fucking country.

  • The last misconception just freaked me out... and the jolly background music just became a creepy outro. I won't be sleeping tonight! :L

  • @mynamisray it's still false we use 100% of our brains just as you said only 10 is dedicated to things like thinks and decision making. we still use the rest, is still active it just does automatic things like balance, pumping blood, breathing, reactions, blinking ect ect so we still use 100% of our brain not 10

  • I actually really appreciated being enlightened on these subjects! If it hadn't been for the fat shaming I would have loved this vid.

  • Comment removed

  • Number 8.. Wow.. Humans are only able to tap into about 10% of their brain for pure thinking power. The rest of it is set aside for running your body and storing memories. So we technically only use 10% of our brain to actually think the rest of it is set on auto pilot so we can't fuck with it. So number 8 is true and these douche bags need to do some corrections.

  • @mynameisray "these douchebags?" first of all, it's one guy. Second, it's not wrong. Look it up. Thirdly, if you're also referring to the spiders "fact," he couldn't find the source, or any thing else saying it was true or false, so he had some fun with it instead... he posted a video response talking about this.

  • @mynameisray Please even with thinking you use more than 10% of your brain. You are using close to 90% all the time and it is only when you are sleeping that you get close the the 10% mark.

  • @Tartrus1 Brain activity doesn't lower while sleeping - almost on the contrary.

  • @Spiderboydk Much of the brain that we use while awake becomes inactive but it is true that other parts of the brain do become active while we sleep.
