I personally like the sound of the chambered....I just didn't do them justice in the vid (needed more revving in the beginning). Let me know when you get the vid of the 87 up. I had an 88 gt but it was what I call "80s fast". It still had the 2.73 gears in the rear...automatic changed to 5 speed.

@MrMustangFan17 It was 93 that the body style changed. 3rd gen- 82-92 4th gen- 93-97, and 98-02 4th gen ls1 camaro/mustangs. The mustang is mainly all sound and no motor without a supercharger.

@CamaroSS2236 I mean if you have an ss camaro or whatever (probably with the "God" motor ls1) youve probably run across mustangs and smoked em...i've done the same things to camaros in my mild bolt on 97 cobra I used to own. lt1s and ls1s. so it goes both ways. for example my cobra had a k&n drop in, pullies, offroad h and flows with 4.10 gears and I raced my buddies 2000 SS camaro with a k&n filter, flows, 3.42 gears and a hypertech tuner...we went from a 40 roll and it was dead even to 120.
@CamaroSS2236 and trust me man, my friend doesn't need the driver mod, we both drive pretty good, so as far as drivers it was even. in my oppinion he had just as much done to his as I did to mine...his tune made up for my gears...which really wasn't being made the most of from a 40 roll. these cobras love rpm so you gotta throw at least 4.10s in em...if I get another I'm goin 4.30s. cuz mine would pull 125 mph or so out of 4th with 4.10s...that wasn't the only ls1 I ran with; also a firehawk.
@CamaroSS2236 the mach 1s are also awesome. they're pretty much a drivers race with ls1s stock for stock and they're N/A...you also have to remember the Mustangs then were giving up over a liter and still doing good as long as you had the DOHC...the mach1s usually put down 280+ to the ground stock. impressive for a 4.6 of that era but what's really impressive is the big bad 6.2 ss camaro they have out now which has 426 hp...ford has released the new 5.0 w 412hp...they put 2 cars on new SSs ezy

I just wanted to set that record straight. there are a lot of fast N/A mustangs either stock or mild bolt on's. Those who havn't seen em need to look around a lil more. the cobra like the one in this vid is a perfect example. you put a set of 4.10s or 4.30s in it with some mild bolt ons and a good driver behind the wheel that thing is serious competition for any ls1 and will blow away lt1s. don't get me started on the new 5.0, which is the daddy to any chevy motor ever; end of story...

@pkidro i own a 1981 camaro, last of the second gen, love it to death. I like mustangs, but they are super common, I mean they are like 5 mustangs per block in a 80 mile radius. I also feel the same way about corvette cars. Penny cars.

99/01 cobras came with a forge crank. That year cobra short block and gt hold the same hp stock. If your putting down 450rwhp on them your pushing it. The 03/04 fully forge btm end, weakest leak is the pistons. They have had those stock short blocks up to 1000hp on the dyno without blowing. But hey that wouldn't last a 1/4mile in my opinion. Hope that helps with tech.
@Gobabyvroommm the cobras are four bolt main not 2 bolt like the gts. gt 4.6 is good to about 500hp, 99 and 01 cobras are good to about 650, and terminators are good for 1000 at the crank. all 96-04 cobras have the 8 bolt forged crank and the 03-04 cobras had all forged internals unlike any other mustangs at the time. its the IRS thats the real weak link on 99-04 cobras. the piston rings usually fail on the engines, not the pistons themselves. hopefully this info will help

03-04 cobras come with all forged internals from the factory. Built to put up with the boost of the eaton supercharger. They have been known to support up to 600rwhp with out issues. I doubt if earlier cobras besides the cobra R came with forged rods, pistons, and crank.
@dec3222 This is true. 99 and 01 have forged crank but have hypereutectic pistons, which are great for longevity but not so good under severe boost. They can handle 400-450 pretty easily and the "limit" is usually about 500 hp. Also, the motor is aluminum, and said to be weaker than the 03-04 iron block.
@jlgpaintball333 I know the 03/04 were supercharged (terminators). I know the 99/01 (no 02) were not. My comment was referring to the fact that all 4 years have the same forged crank.

@ADD8oi 99 and 01 cobras came with a forged crank. 99 was the last year for the Teksid block. 01s came with the winsor aluminum block. They got the 320 hp from revised intake and the new power improved 4v cylinder heads and a little different exhaust setup. The terminator cobras came with an iron block, forged crank, forged Zolner pistons, and forged manley h beam connecting rods. factory underrated at 390 hp, 390 torque. Dammit i love terminator cobras.

I would think that the internals of the 03-04 would be stronger since it came with a s/c from the factory. I would read on svtperformance to make sure....I know there are guys running s/c on the 99 and 01 cobras and they are making good power.

Those who havn't seen em need to look around a lil more. the cobra like the one in this vid is a perfect example. you put a set of 4.10s or 4.30s in it with some mild bolt ons and a good driver behind the wheel that thing is serious competition for any ls1 and will blow away lt1s. don't get me started on the new 5.0, which is the daddy to any chevy motor ever; end of story...

@pkidro i own a 1981 camaro, last of the second gen, love it to death. I like mustangs, but they are super common, I mean they are like 5 mustangs per block in a 80 mile radius. I also feel the same way about corvette cars. Penny cars.

Camaro was nice untill 3rd generation when the only good thing about them was the vette engine, but they were crappy cars that broke down and had mechanical problems from the start. The ls1 is an awesome engine but again, in a shitty car

@stutteral actually most people rated the mustang to be the best even when it was a 2010. and it's not because it's cheaper, because it makes more sense. I have driven both and i know the difference. the 2011 GT is a whole different class and it should'nt even be compared with the camaro. it went against the 4L m3 and won, and it's half the price fully loaded. I wish people would just admit that FORD owns the market but i know it's hard for you chevy fans.

@stutteral there are alot of video comparing the 2010 camaro and 2010 mustang, even thought the camaro was faster, some still favored the mustang. some reviewres favored the camaro. Fords answer to the 60 year old pushrod is the new 5.0 which is on a whole new lvl that chevy would go out of business before affording to make something close to it. what does a supra which died along time ago have anything to do with 2 muscle cars? just admit that chevy is shit and get over it. Also the new 2010 v6 camaro has 306hp... that's more than your stock v8 GT. But ya we will go with fords are better... 99/01 cobras came with a forge crank. That year cobra short block and gt hold the same hp stock. If your putting down 450rwhp on them your pushing it. The 03/04 fully forge btm end, weakest leak is the pistons. They have had those stock short blocks up to 1000hp on the dyno without blowing. But hey that wouldn't last a 1/4mile in my opinion. Hope that helps with tech.

@Gobabyvroommm the cobras are four bolt main not 2 bolt like the gts. gt 4.6 is good to about 500hp, 99 and 01 cobras are good to about 650, and terminators are good for 1000 at the crank. all 96-04 cobras have the 8 bolt forged crank and the 03-04 cobras had all forged internals unlike any other mustangs at the time. its the IRS thats the real weak link on 99-04 cobras. the piston rings usually fail on the engines, not the pistons themselves. hopefully this info will help

03-04 cobras come with all forged internals from the factory. Built to put up with the boost of the eaton supercharger. They have been known to support up to 600rwhp with out issues. I doubt if earlier cobras besides the cobra R came with forged rods, pistons, and crank.

@dec3222 This is true. 99 and 01 have forged crank but have hypereutectic pistons, which are great for longevity but not so good under severe boost. They can handle 400-450 pretty easily and the "limit" is usually about 500 hp. Also, the motor is aluminum, and said to be weaker than the 03-04 iron block.

@ADD8oi 99 and 01 cobras came with a forged crank. 99 was the last year for the Teksid block. 01s came with the winsor aluminum block. They got the 320 hp from revised intake and the new power improved 4v cylinder heads and a little different exhaust setup. The terminator cobras came with an iron block, forged crank, forged Zolner pistons, and forged manley h beam connecting rods. factory underrated at 390 hp, 390 torque. Dammit i love terminator cobras.

no,all 4.6s have the same bottom end except the 03-04 cobra,that is the only one thats forged and the rest are shit powdered metal rods.trust me,i've gone thu 3 motors.i have a built one now.

so i have a 97 gt right now and i plan on selling it and getting a cobra..ive heard that the internals in a 99 and 00 cobra are better than an 03-04 cobra and if you were to put a s/c on the 99 or 00 cobra it would pull more power...anybody know if thats true??

I would think that the internals of the 03-04 would be stronger since it came with a s/c from the factory. I would read on svtperformance to make sure....I know there are guys running s/c on the 99 and 01 cobras and they are making good power.

Hard question to answer. Personally this one was a little too raspy for me. I changed the magnapacks out for magnaflows and was pleased with the change. You can check out my other video with the magnaflows.
