It´s very different seeing a video and seeing her live. She´s amzing, she´s a good teacher, I have classes with her whwn she cames to Brazil. you have too see her dance near, she dances beautiful! And it´s a lot of emotion in her style, tarab...amazing. love Dina since I met her.
Human first language are dance. So foundation of classic ballet or folkloric dance also part of culture. She dance and her movement talk about the her feeling as a woman plus understanding of melody, great dancer.
you can critique Dina's style all you want, but its just ill informed to say the Cairo's leading belly dancer isn't bellydancing. Know what you are talking about Please!
I want to learn eastern dance I just don't want someone from the West showing me "how to". when I dance to this music I use my feelings now I need techniques! I love Dina!
Everyone can be taught how to do the movements of belly dancing but you cant really learn what she is doing, she is not just enjoying herself she's really living with the musikc and she has proved that she can dance, and everyone who says she cant is just jealous! :)
Enjoyed one very emotional workshop, which gave me permission to show emotions more readily.
The Concert was performed from a very high stage. Her slurry and relaxed performance was
probably because she was trying to come down to the audience floor lever. She was stooped over most of the time wanting to reach us, embrace us, love us and thank us for being such an appreciating audience and worm hearted students. That was my impression at the time.
instead of strictly focusing on dancing, there should a healthy fusion of emotion and dancing to create something extremely beautiful. Dina is a very talented woman, and while she infuses the emotion flawlessly, I think a bit more dancing would work in her favor. :)
I disagree with the ones who say that Dina does not "dance" enough. I am Middle Eastern and I see belly dancers all the time with perfect technique, but no emotions. As a Middle Eastern I need to see your connection to the lyrics of the music to even consider you as a dancer. I think it is different for Middle Eastern audiences and the Western audiences.
Too theatrical... there should be more focus on the dancing instead all the walking around and swinging the arms.. The facial expressions are enough to strengthen the dancing!
Her dance is always free and improvisational...very sensual and alive!! Her style is unique! Dina enjoys so much dancing..... I wish all women danced like that.
Dina is the best, no doubt,if you really understand the spirit of oriental dance......Egyptian oriental dance is the best , everything about elegance and passion are in it,
@yasminah87 I know you may not believe me but Saida will be taking classes from her and Didem is turkish bellydancing not Egyption. She is know for being the queen or Cairo.
