  • | can asus transformer EE Pc doing this stuff? or need any software? or may be another laptop can do it too? Pls tell me :) PM Me. tq.

  • wait... oh no Chapter 9 is impotent ? poor thing

  • hey do you know if this laptop would be good for somthing like photoshop?

  • This laptop is rubbish due to a fault on the nvidea go 6150 chip in the mobo HP refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem. ANd refuse to rectify the situation even tho nividea have admittted to the fault existing.

  • At least mention what the problem is!

    Please state.

  • YES. I just won one of eBay for $400!

  • Ha, that's a great deal. Although I would not switch back to the TX1000 now that I have the tx2000

  • is this model older than tx1410???

  • no it is just a variation... for some reason HP made a ton of tx variations. but as long as it has a tx1 int he beginning it is the same series. The tx2... is the new one!

  • Basically the same. Minor differences in configuration. I have the tx2000z now and there are many different versions again.

  • thanks for the review. i'm getting the tx1400 tomorrow for $700 after rebates at Office Depot. is that a pretty good price?

  • That sounds like a good deal! I just bought the tx2000z and if you are planning to use it as a tablet very much, go for the tx2000 with active digitizer

  • is this older than the 'tx2115nr' at bestbuy . com?

on the program you had chemistry notes, can you convert that into type?

can you draw pictures on Word 2007?

  • It is older than the Tx2115.

You can convert writing into type, but with Chemistry notes I would not want to try... same with Math, you might loose important info.

Yes there is inking in Word 2007!

  • do you know if a can find something that works like a handwriting tablet, but without being a laptop?, i mean, just the notebook??

  • Yes there are many options that you can connect to a laptop or your PC, or Mac. For example the Wacom tablets. Do a google search, you should find a tablet for your needs!

  • @AnandaShake or you could try the archos 9

  • It is about a year older than the tx2000. You can try to convert chemistry notes, but it won't know exactly what to do with it.

You can draw in Word 2007... it comes in very handy!

  • Are these pc'es good too use in school relation things? for instance noteing, drawing???

  • As you can see in the video, I am using it for my sciences. Then in English and other classes I flip it up and use the keyboard to take notes. All in the same place... It has made my life as a student a lot easier

  • as you can see in the video that is what I use this laptop for

  • What about the graphics are they ideal for light video editing and a few games

  • Video editing for sure, gaming as long as its not the newest 3D game it will work. Definitely is a great entertainment laptop, but it is not a hardcore gaming laptop.

  • does it have quickplay?

    Can you lock the mouse?

    Foes it have lightscribe?

    Can you burn dvds(+&- rw)

    same thing with cds?

    IS IT HEAVY?

  • 1. yes

    2. yes

    3. yes

    4. yes

    5. yes

    6. nope

  • very nice

  • what is the software in which u r writing ? does it cme wid the laptop or u have to buy it ?

  • There is software that comes with the laptop called Windows Journal. I bought Office 2008 which has a great program called OneNote!

  • You can hate me for saying this, but the HP TX1000 is a extreemly poor perfomer. I have one and it never gives me sound, never reads my SD cards, never reaches the webcam, doesn't recognize the fingerprint scanner which gives me the impression that this specific model is a real mistake. The Tech Support can barely speak english and the only thing I look forward to doing is sending in the laptop for repair and then selling it on eBay. I would NEVER reccomend buying this.

  • I had these problems too, but they were an easy fix-just had to update the drivers.

  • fair enough, you bought a lemon, bad luck. all I can say is mine works great and does everything I need.

  • cant what to get mine :D

  • hey i just got the pen and i'm on it now... its not touch screen... well at least mine... is there soumething i have to do?

  • There are many different versions of the Tx1000... you most likely got ripped off with a model that doesn't have the touchscreen. If they did not mention the feature, it is not their fault either. Maybe you can exchange it to the right one! Good Luck

  • what kind of specs do you have on this laptop?

I heard that an AMD is slower then a Intel and is power hungry. How smooth is the transition from program to program using your specs?

  • hey man I Just have one question Do you happen to experience tablet crosshair persition problems?

  • Looks perfect for photoshop

  • It's pretty cool, only that I would miss the hotkeys... but you can always plug in USB mouse/keyboard on top of using the pen in tablet mode!

  • How's the screen sensitivity? I hear you have to press hard to write, but do the adjustments in the screen sensitivity settings fix this?

  • dont have to press hard, it is a little bit like writing with a pencil. Also the screen gets used to your writing and it same goes for the user. So after a week or so it is like writing on paper.

  • Have you got Photoshop? I like the idea of this but am not sure if it will be effective..Thanks :) ps; I like pencils . Is the stylus pressure sensitive ? and, does it register hand touch as well as the stylus or can that be discounted?

  • No, it's got passive touch screen. It's not a WACOM digitizer, so it's not pressure sensitive (important to know for all you photoshop guys). Since it's passive, it does register hand touch - you can use your finger to control your mouse, therefore control your OS :)

  • Is there much lag with the writing or calibration issues? Ive heard mixed reviews with Tablet Capabilities with this model.

  • love this tablet, probally will get one for christmas. between this or a regular laptop from HP the dv9500t

  • get the tx1000

    its more awesomeer

  • ya finally decided to get it

  • thanks man, i bought on these and it should be comming in week, and from i saw it looks just gorgeus.

  • what was the program you showed that looked like a piece of paper?

  • microsoft onenote

  • actually Gobinder!

  • Hey i was wondering when you flip the screen down does it go vertical? If i does is there any way to make it go horizontal?

  • there's a button on the screen's right side to change the screen's orientation.

  • Thanks dude i was really wanting to get one of these but i couldnt decide but i will get one now

  • how do you feel about taking notes with the stylus (does it lag, unresponsive etc)

  • I take all my science notes (math, chem) with it and it works fine. If you want to write letters with it, I would suggest an active digitizer tablet.

  • thnx u've really helped me. I'm thinking of getting either this one or the Asus R1E (intel processor + active digitizer). Can you pls post some more videos of your TX1000 its really great!!

  • is the fan really loud?

  • it gets louder when you use it for a long time on your lap and on high performance. But not as loud as the video on Youtube. That is just a defective fan.

  • is it a widescreen?

  • yup! max res. 1200x800

  • wow, do you know if it has a active or passive digitizer? (special pen needed to write)

  • nope, only touchscreen

  • I thought the specs say 1280x800 ;)

  • Does it work with Xp ?

  • There is a tablet version for XP, but I doubt it will just work with XP Professional. This Laptop is made especially with Vista and it comes preinstalled. Better than I expected!

  • wow that is really cool! GJ!
