"Hai gia vinta la causa...Vedro mentrio sospiro" is of my all-time favorite arias, and I believe this is my favorite rendition of it. I remember so well when this performance was on the radio and then on television. I'd LOVE to have it on DVD (so far it hasn't been commercially released); I only have my old VHS tape I recorded from TV.

Rewatching this after too long. I miss Dwayne Croft in big Mozart roles, especially his Count Almaviva. I'd LOVE a video of his Don Giovanni. I only caught it once and taped the braodcast, but his Don is very suave and elegant, and not as cruel as so many others. Miss you, Dwayne!!

For the record, this very same production (by Jonathan Miller) was first unveiled in Vienna's Theater an der Wien in May of 1991 with this splendid cast. It was released on video by SONY and is now long overdue for rerelease on DVD.
