Every issue is divisive. If Chafee is talking about the 'Mexico city policy,' it has been commonly understood that GOP presidents put that in place. Chafee seems to think that half of the population should not have their voices heard.
and switched parties....He was absolutely God-Awful in the GOP.
His father was great...liberal on a # of issues--but would work hard to support the party on tough issues --Court nominees, judical appointments generally,...GOOD RIDDANCE!
I don't know why Chafee was ousted. His voting record was the same as the current senators has been. Chafee was hurt by his Republican label. I believe there is a place for him an other liberals and moderates in the Republican Party, and I am a staunch social and fiscal conservative.
I`m a german and strong supporter of left wing democrat - a liberal and I`m pride about - but, Chaffee would have been the only Republican I remember I would have voted for! And I`m a little bit sad that he not finds himself back in the new Obama administration!
I think he ought to consider moving to Canada, esp.Nova Scotia and get involved in politics there. They sure could use his expertise, Canadian politics has been changing rapidly in the last few years.
Chafee lost in his 06-election was not a big lost for, AT ALL! Anytime a Rockefeller Repuplican is out it's good for the G.O.P. Whats the point of a dope like Chafee being in you're party when he does not agree with your views? Might as well give it up to a left-wing democrat.
Big Stick, you're the dope. And historically, the Republican pary was populated by New Englanders such as Lincoln Chafee. The influx of semiliterate rednecks from the South into the pary didn't occur until the 1960's.
He lost his seat in the 2006 elections to Democratic candidate Sheldon Whitehouse. Unfortunately his loss was necessary in order for the Democrats to gain a majority in the Senate (otherwise it would have been a 50-50 break resulting in Cheney being the tiebreaker as President of the Senate and holding it for the Republicans). More recently Chafee became an independent and endorsed Obama for President.

We as Republicans need to;
#1 Make Rush Limbaugh the official leader of the Republican party
#2 Bring back Dick Cheney and make him our official spokesman
#3 Sarah Palin for president and Piyush Jindal for vice president 2012
#4 Glenn Beck for secretary of defense
#5 Privatize everything and adopt a PURE capitalist system
#6 Nuke Iran & any other socialist country
#7 Make all torture legal
#8 Get rid of all taxes and make this a "small" government
#9 And may GOD BLESS AMERICA and ONLY AMERICA

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This guy thinks that people can't change. What a dumbass republican. That is why he is still a republican. He thinks people's minds don't change.
Also, the war is the only thing Republicans got right and he voted against it. Dumbfuck!

Phenomenal video. I never heard of Lincoln Chafee, but he strikes me like an outstanding man.
