not really... The Mac pro is not impressive hardware wise

I would go with the 8 core and get a 3rd party TFT ie samsung or liyama or dell that way you get more bang for the buck in regards to ratio, contrast , response time etc and you get a better warranty and for less money.

I am still looking into reviews for TFT's so any advice on TFT's would be welcomed.

I have a the 3.2GHz/4GB of Ram/1TB hard drive/8800GT/Airport and 2 SuperDrives but waiting on Apple to update their current displays, I want the 30-inch but their response time and contrast ratio is very lacking, Dell's 3008 has 3000:1 while Apple's Cinema has 700:1, My advice is to hold off on the display until next month at WWDC and get the 2.8GHZ/2GB of ram/2 320 hard drive/8800GT/Airport extreme/ 2 super drives and you will be set to go, can't wait to see the unboxing vid.

Get the Octo anyway. Buy a third party display.

I actually have a 22" Viewsonic monitor that I love!

Just something special about those cinema displays.
