Black Napkins

I used to listen to this song and dream and wish I could play it, it sounds so intricate and beyond capability, and Dweezil's version I find that little bit crisper and his style is more natural smooth blues (Gilmoreish) Anyways I started playing guitar in Dec 2010. And recently worked this tune out, Bass, rythm clean, and the solo (sort of) my fingers just dont go that fast yet. But in doing so it has tarnished somewhat what I loved so much about this song. Did you feel the same once learnt ?

I have "something bad to say (about this video)" and it's this -- tell the audience to shut the hell up! I want to see this same group post the same song in another video only this time with no audience/background noise and with better audio quality. Other than that, these boys can play and kudos to the guitarist. I've always loved "Black Napkins", saw Frank do it in '77 and '88 and the phrasing in this cover is very, very good. Nice job!

Well... He pays great attention to detail. That has always been one of my favorite compositions and I've listened to it hundreds of times. I have much respect for this guitarist. He must appreciate the song as well to give it so much study. Frank Zappa was really something huh?
