its the fighter never the art. Even these "monsters" will make a mistake and lose. No one is undefeatable man and no such thing as the best. Theres always a bigger mountain than you. But still yea i respect these guys peace
you will injured easyly when you do those stuffs without applying Chi. you have learn to use Chi before practicing hard training. Shaolin kungfu form looks hard as stones.
@aphelion719 You can do that or you can just condition your body to naturally take the hits. That's what my school does, or that may just be me. Either way, this is the best way to cut back on the military spending for tanks. We have some home grown!
@Alvz0r just because the train differently dosent make them any tougher, No matter how good your training is, you can still get knocked out., it's the fighter not the training. l
hei thats funny I am trying to do just that....learning math and physics at uni while training wushu taichi and chikung and tibetan yoga..........well it is challenging but can be done slowly .....and hard to do when you are 51, but possible
Their head might become harder, but by banging it like this, they are probably losing a shit ton of neurons. They would prolly end up with brain related illnesses or just dumbnes :P
what the fuck? that man trying to kick at the end, fuck me, he couldn't hurt anyone like that. and his red face, lol, he made a fool of himself for sure, jesus!
the water striking at 3:32 appears to make no sense. However, you do realize that a drop from high enough into even a fresh body of water will kill you right? If enough surface of human flesh strikes water at a certain speed, water has all the give of concrete. Given the choice between landing on earth, or landing on water, if I took a huge dive, I would choose earth, because landing on water at high speed is exactly like landing on concrete.
I'm not sure it was meant as a joke. The "reptile skill" is also known as "lizard playing on the wall". It's a real internal skill where one can literally climb the wall like spiderman. But once you have that skill, you literally can't touch anyone again. If you do you would kill them instantly. Understandably very few really got that skill, but according to Shaolin lore, that's what would happen.
yeah, yeah, yeah, its when you supposedly align your chi with every material around you, and can use "sticking" force to crawl up walls using your energy, thing is you become such a potent "battery" of chi, you can't touch them because it will fire all their pressure points and kill them instantly. Personally I can't see the shaolin mastering such a technique, or trying; for Chi to circulate that strongly, they would have to have vigorous health.
I interpreted it as humorous, because if reptile skill really does circulate your chi with such potency you can crawl on walls, it is better to commit murder, than to miss such a healthful training session. I insist; the shaolin were not without a sense of humor.
They are not without a sense of humor; its a joke. He meant, that walking on stairs like a reptile is such excellent overall conditioning for the body, its "magical." When he said "anyone who touches him will be killed" it is meant, it is such an effective exercise it is better to murder someone to get to do it for the day, than miss a day of training in it. That is how effective it is in terms of fitness and conditioning.
The reason for those dents, is that on that site, so many students practiced for so many long and arduous hours, that in time dents formed on the ground. However, as far as someone stomping the ground with such vicious force that those dents formed, I honestly and seriously doubt that......
The dents are a testament to practice and dedication, not brute force.
Of course there is some tourism involved, with the way modern warfare is fought, Shaolin monks would just have a nuclear weapon dropped on thier heads. There's no reason for thier martial combat skills, so they show thier skills. Anyone can say t hat its just a show, but they practice and train for years to become good enough to show the skills, even to tourists. No doubt they're amazing!
it's pretty useless to teach complex and arduous moves to "Chinese Special Forces". it's better to use a quick easy and efficient martial arts such as Judo.
Is the shaolin still traditional or has it changed much. I heard its now more a tourist attraction. Do you guys know if this is true, because I always had much respect for the martial arts marsters there.
ok you'll be very hard after practise this...But due to the dysformation of your body(strange hands)...you will be less attractive for the women...This kind of training is important in mortal kombat...but not anno 2007...
So, one practices for hours, days, weeks, months, and years so they can defend themselves in the unlikely event they are attacked by someone who is unarmed? What is the point? You are better off running away or kicking someone in the gonads. Otherwise, this just seems like masochism mixed with confused masculinity.
To a pessimistic person with no martial experience. The ability to fight is a fringe benefit. Theres a great spiritual aspect to the training. Its as much mental as it is physical. Values earned through training can be carried into every aspect of life.
It's also a discipline. Call it masochism, but at least their in better shape than most Americans who seem to enjoy eating themselves into an early grave.
I stayed at a shaolin temple in china for about 6 months this year and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done and I looked like an embarrassment for a while.
When they do those hand gestures they're focusing chi (like the guy getting his stomach headbutted with his arms out). Their bodies are also stronger from the training, but only through so much training will you ever understand completely.
Their training is intense of course, but their skills, and changing their body is the result. You change with such training, and the art becomes what you make of it in time. I can feel my chi and control it to an extent, and my reaction time from almost 2 years of karate. I'm a dif person in a sense.
Japanese martial arts neglect the idea of an energy force. Unless you've been lucky enough to find a "karate" instructor that has a brain, isn't in martial arts for the money and has thrown out the traditional idea of japanese martial arts.

Plus the water is usually cold. You end up training, soaking wet with water and sweat, which makes for uncomfortable and miserable conditions.
