@butterybeefslinguh Because its wayyyyy harder to do with caucasian hair, its thin, and straight, its not naturally course or curly like African-American hair or other nationalities that have great hair to do dreads with, theres a lot of vids with white people, because its something you have to teach and learn, people with thicker hair dont have to neccessarily do all this back-combing and plam-rolling, their hair locks up a lot easier and more naturally than white peoples.

@Lilgameable Most likely around 4-5 inches long. Your hair won't shrink TOO drastically, even if you tighten them up rock-hard on the first day. :)

well about 2 weeks ago wen i first put mine in i began to realize that it did take alooooooot longer. i timed a few of them and it came out to about 30-50min to get it nice and tight to my liking depending on size..i used a crochet needle to tighten them which helps

Unfortunatly I made the mistake of using product shit in my hair. Now, I only tried making one dread just for the look, you know? And now I have this clump of nasty knotted hair that came undone on the side of my head. I cant do anything with it because the product wont wash out and its to tangled to back comb. So Im going to have to cut it ot. But anyways, your video is the most helpful one I've found. So next time I attempt my dread, I'll know where to look. Thanks haha

Hi dave, Great little demo for ppl, no nonsense. I know someone has mentioned it before about using your left hand to twist the dread while u backcomb--i dont actually twist but sort of rotate back and forth and also alter the angle of the comb so as I rotate right the comb goes left and vice versa. I will eventually get mine started again, taken me ten yrs to decide to have dreads again after cutting the last lot off and instantly regretting it. Nice vid
