I was looking for the ambidextrous bass drummer; there he was, seated between the BD and the gong, playing both in the finale. I wonder if he got double pay? V. noticeable timelag between video and audio.
my marching band does this song in a marching kind of version! It's a lot of fun, we also perform "largo" and "firebird". Our show is called "from russia with love" because yes, it is a russian show. :) and I proudly play the trumpet and mellophone!
Actualy there are two orchestras as written in the description. Slovenian RTV Orchestra and French. It is hard to say who is principal. For ex. concert master is from French orchestra and beside him is the concert master from Slovenian orchestra. The same goes with trumpets-we have two principals-when one is playing the other is resting. The one who is sitting next to 1st trombone is Matej Rihter-principal trumpet of Slovenian RTV Orchestra.
I am playing this song in my bell choir. my director told us today he wonted powerful as if a king was walking in. He said to look it up. Man this is amazing.
Wow, GREAT trumpet playing. I like how the assistant trumpet plays that last "unison" Bflat so the principal can come in blasting the high notes. Bravo
@crosswordswithpen Actually, "flautist" is the predominant term used in England, whereas "flutist" is the predominant in America ;). Not that I play the flute or anything... 8-) :P
@xjwag11x That section is nice, but 3:50 is by far my favorite. I was able to perform it with my marching band in 2008 as the finale of our closing piece. We were lined from end zone to end zone as we slowly pushed forward. I got goose bumps just playing it. One night, I was on the receiving end of it, and to this day I am in awe of what I felt.
@Poonwrckr I believe the correct term for a "flute player" as you call her is "flautist". Yeah I know, picky-picky is my middle name. But you did get one thing right, you said that she looks yummy and no one can deny that.
Beautiful movement. I was in a youth philharmonic recently, and I got to play the chimes in this movement. Though it was just E flat over and over again, it was amazing.

whoa... is it me or do the bocals on those two bassoons look a bit too straight?
it's probably just the angle that makes them look like that

Actually flute player works, but it is only "flautist" if you are in France. "Flutist" is the English term.
