this album really seems to have tapped into whatever energy it was made the late 60s and early 70s so vibrant with creativity and alive with personality
Alvin didn't make Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists list?? Figures-I stopped reading RS after they bashed George Harrison's "Dark Horse" album in 1975. I promptly purchased Dark Horse & have enjoyed it every since!!
@TwoPointsUp what the hell do rolling stone mag know about anything if they can leave out someone who waz once labelled as THE fastest guitarist in the world, eh??? what next leave out; page, hendrix, angus young, jeff beck, richards, townshend, steve howe, clapton, johnson, the list is endless but how many were in the rollin stone' 'so called' top 100, thank fukk we don't set in 'stone' what people who r so far way out of the loop as rollin stone are, eh????
This album brings back many great memories of that "Space in Time" for me that will never to return again. I listened to this a ton in 1973-76 I feel this was Ten Years Afters BEST album. Very mellow great Classic Rock & Roll by Alvin Lee & CO. Accoustic Sounds just put out a 24 CT audiophile CD mastered by Steve Hoffman & Kevin Grey. I have not even recieved it as of yet but you can bet it will be better that anything that is currently available. You can by it through Amazon for about $15.00.
Your welcome. For me listening to this R&R on tube equipment is the way to go especially if you have a good analog recording. Long live Alvin Lee & R&R!
@MrTheaudiophile - I agree completely.. I have this record on LP and would listen to it "back in the day" constantly in the late 1980's..Used a japanese receiver with 7868 output tubes & headphones, which was nice..but I prefer to hear stuff thru a big valve amp and loudspeaks, so everyone can tune into the *euphoria* and deep sound stage..
I'm not sure 10 YEARS AFTER know what powers they invoke with this song..lets hope the the advent of the Old Ones and Deep Ones don't happen before we are prepared, or it could get ugly indeed..
considering the equipment Alvin Lee had to work with, the production quality of this album in particular is amazing. Alvin Lee is still one of the best blues guitar players, and in his prime was as good or better than the vast majority of rock and roll players out there, including Clapton, Beck and Page.
"Here They come, and the Fear in our Hearts starts to Grow.." Your version has the end part that starts at 3:39, unlike some others on youtube..good job
I was born in 1965 and found this band in 1979. This was 8 years after the release of the album. Needless to say they still sound awesome!!!! Thanks for posting!!
