  • @notmyrealname1231 it freaking real! ik it hard to believe but......

  • @notmyrealname1231 No it's 100% real..In fact here's a story about it from NPR. watch?v=eS-USrwuUfA In other words...You're a dumb ass.

  • Its a plant, its a fish it's....WTF

  • and sucky willys

  • i like it sucky balls

  • @kerog6 pretty much you might not even know the occult: type up "A trip into the supernatural", and when you lose all hope type up "top scientists comment on the Quran.

  • Thumbs up if we should use him in COD Black OPS !

  • There's all these people saying; "I wanna be a werewolf" "I wanna be a Na vi" "I wanna be a furry" "i wana be ah vampirr"

Well, I want to be a fucking octopus.

  • That is one amazing octopussy

  • the ultimate way to camp.

  • Micro and macro evolution are two different subjects. There is plenty of evidence of micro evolution occurring, but none in macro evolution. Not one fossilized evidence of macro evolution can be found to date. Sadly, this is a fact. I think we must start from the beginning and first find out why the DNA in every living organism is hardwired and cannot evolve by natural means. We need a new leaping off point instead of clinging to a 175+ year old theory.

  • I would have pissed my swim suit, think anyone would have noticed? lmao

  • Octopussy? really?

  • I saw this on PBS's Nova. Amazing.

  • Wow, this is truly amazing! Natural Selection at its finest!!! In other words..this is the coolest shit ever!

  • i wish i can do that

  • It changed colors, like the chameleon, it uses the jungle.

  • Someone should edit this video with that Octocamo sound from MGS4

  • wow you have re-posted this again you dumb fuk

  • wow! better than the cuttlefish!

  • It was a rewind, this octopussy is really visible until it decides to hide itself.

  • How can an octopus pick up the properties and color just like that? *Goes to wikipedia*

  • omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg OMG!

  • hooly shit that wood be fun

  • That was tight

  • is this real cus i see it change shape

  • now that's a ninja ^_^ LOL

  • I can do that

  • oh how the trolls will troll and the people come feed

  • texture hack

  • lol

  • please be joking

  • no, not at random. over a couple thousand years of evolution

  • wtf m4dkip? for you it happened 1 random day in a few days, evolutionary theory is it happened over millions of years, how can you bring religion into this anyway

  • Seriously? Just admire it for being cool and leave it at that. Jeez, what a buzzkill.

  • your comment is evidence of the non logical mentality of people who believe in intelligent design and religion

  • I agree totally this proves beyond doubt that god is an octopus

  • and his name is Cthulhu.

  • @MAdk1p

And who created the intelligent creator?

This debate has been settled for centuries, please stop living in the dark ages.

You don't believe even mean anything by intelligence, you just want to anthropomorphize the divine cause it makes your little mind feel better about itself. Yes their is a creative force by which existence is possible. No it doesn't have genitalia, use human language or go around coming up with lists of rules or demanding ritualized praise, that's all humans.

  • @pilatech btw, it has been said that time is the 4th dimension, so could it be that outside our Universe there is a place where time does not function as it does here? There might be something that has always been. We are accustomed that everything has a beginning and and end, but it doesn't mean that everything works like that. Maybe, if there is a creator, it wasn't made, it has just always existed, in a place where time is not a dimension.

    just a thought...

  • @zehaha

possible in some sense of the word perhaps but utterly incomprehensible to human thought or that of any being whose identity is temporal in nature. Time is less a special dimension as a mode of perception used by consciousness. Nothing is gained by pushing the creator into this timeless realm, it simply undermines all understanding of the process of creation, as what is a process there? And if you can't make sense of such a process I don't have any idea what is meant by a 'creator'.

  • @pilatech couldn't agree more mate. That Madk1p is a complete retard but then when you have it drilled into you at a young age that god made us and not to open your mind to anything else, the view is as expected. They don't even teach them Darwin and the theories of evolution. Just look at the Galapogos islands, it's proof. Survival of the fittest and over millions of years, a mutation will occur that could benefit their survival incorporating that feature into the many offspring.

  • holy shit!

  • Just think if that octopus could walk on land, endless hours of entertainment.

  • amazing, transformers of the sea.

  • ahh man i would totally love to be able to do that....not the Camouflage thing....but shitting ink as i run away..

  • @Ekalavya OMG Funny Funny Funny... I read this like 5 minutes ago... I'm still laughing my ass off!

  • @Ekalavya : or have a blue blood !

  • @Ekalavya i do that all the time...but it's not as pretty as how the octopus does it

  • @j4pan Oh thanks.

    I'm god.

  • @vviccio

Ummmm dad can I go out tonight??

    Jesus

  • @RENEGADEWHA Plz, ask me that in a temple and wait for a response. LOL

  • Shall do dad... Just going to get the Evian for tonight lulz

  • @j4pan

    lol... religion.

  • Terrible citation. Your link in the video is shameless blogspam. Probably why your video was getting bad ratings and you disabled them. This is from David Gallo's TED talk. Look it up and at least have the decency to link to it next time.

  • welcome to 80% of youtube

  • That is uber cool!

  • This is the clip Jaron Lanier was talking about in his new book, You Are Not A Gadget. Awesome!

  • How th ehell did you know it was there?

  • What is our world coming to that someone would think this was fake? I just watched an episode of Nova about these octopi a few weeks ago. Please, do us a favor and get an education or KILL YOURSELF.

  • It is a relatively uncommon site for someone and someone ignorant of the practical limits of falsifying a video like this might be inclined to call it fake. I had to see the slow motion section before I was entirely convinced. I previously thought that these organisms had much more limited camouflage. Either way, as much as I would like the population to be a bit swifter, I don't think instructing ignorant people to go kill themselves will help effectively accomplish that goal.

  • WHAT!?! since when did octopi start living in the water?

  • i just got mind fucked whoop dee doo

  • There's nothing fake about it, I've watched similar behaviour while diving.

  • two complicated words: NATURAL EVOLUTION

  • @kerog6 lol, theres no such thing as natural evolution. what you mean is probably natural selection.

  • ...As in evolution by natural selection. Natural selection is the engine of evolution - hardly 'vaguely linked'!

  • natural selection means survival of the fittest. whichever animal evolves quickest and best will not become victim of natural selection, thus 'vaguely linked' its sometimes doesnt apply, like an octopus. they evolved camoflauge to escape being eaten. so evolution drives N.S., not the other way. also, evolution is one of the most confusing things around, so right at this moment its true, but might not be in a couple of years.

  • @kerog6 "they evolved camoflauge to escape being eaten. so evolution drives N.S"

You know NOTHING about evolution. This statement proves it alone. NO organism evolves because it wants/needs to. That is what you are taught the first day you learn about evolution. Your "understanding" of evolution is flawed horribly. You don't even understand the basic concepts

  • @fallen404 I see nothing wrong with what Kerog6 said. His/her comments were vague, but not incorrect.

  • it was vague, at best. i didnt say that octopy 'wanted' to evolve, i said that the need to stay alive drove the evolution. some octopy may have been born weird, with big veins close to the skin. when they get scared, veins get further away, octo gets pale and realises it can hide in sand. body knows its an advantage, and makes it better next generation. maybe i should go into more detail next time, but dont say i know nothing about evolution.

  • @kerog6 No, natural selection is one of the mechanisms that drives evolution. Think about it. Individuals with less fit genes are selected against, they are less likely to propagate their genes successfully. Each subsequent gene pool is altered due to natural selection, and this alteration over time is referred to as evolution.

But there are other factors that drive evolution (e.g., Neutral Theory) so although natural selection is sufficient for evolution, it's not a necessary cause.

  • now, im not going to wikipedia for this (not a trust issue) but heres a scenario. octopus gets born with its veins close to its skin and less pigment. when it gets scared, say by a predator, veins get smaller or further away, and the octo turns pale. realises it can hide in sand, survives, and for an insane unknown reason, the body understands it as an advantage and makes it more useful next generation. im not sure whether your disagreeing with me at this point, but thats how i see it. ill pm

  • @chuua Well, strictly speaking, evolution is natural. :P

  • @AgApE010

    -

    "-

    "NATURAL EVOLUTION"

    Sure. *rolls eyes*"

i dont recall saying that, but way to use quotes on an argument that i had a strong point on and saying *rolls eyes*. im sure you could counter anything i said with real logic. im REALLY sure. REALLY. (sensing sarcasm? right. *rolls eyes*)

  • @AgApE010

    rolling with you!!

  • @kerog6 Evolution is just something made up by libruls and atheists. My pastor told me so it must be true!

  • @zeppelin0110 lol noob troll, be more creative

  • @zehaha I'll try harder next time, master!! *bows*

    :D

  • @zeppelin0110 :D haha

  • @kerog6 ? no there is no such thing.. just a creation God made.

  • @loliconagent ORLY?

  • hectic is not enough.

    far out

  • HOLY SHIT

  • dude, wtf in stereo...i just got mind-raped

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh, so cool

  • 5*s - why did u disable ratings?

  • Nice, maybe a cyberdyne t1000 is not that ridiculous!!!

  • ARE YOU SHITTIN ME?

  • OH MY SHIT! LOL that almost scared me

  • Impressive....

    5* s

  • An alien world indeed. Project Blue Beam has hit 'Shark Week'!

  • wow that was awesome

  • Even it's EYE changed colour!

  • is this honestly real? :D

  • Lol ... it is real when you're taught that in university :P

The concept is simple enough to be real, it uses it's muscles to change the shape of it's skin and uses different proteins to change it's color. The really amazing this about octopus is the speed at which they can do it.

  • I want to play Xbox on a cuttlefish. This is now my life's dream.

  • THATS COOL

  • Wow, 4 billion years of evolution yeilds amazing results.

  • 3.6 actually :) (organic that is)

  • I thought it was 3.9. In any case, I suppose I shouldn't round up to one significant digit when the margin is 0.4/0.1 billion years =P

  • Or, wow what an awesome God we serve

  • Lol.

  • I like Your reply, I couldn't agree more

    Love and Light.

  • why r we talking about evolution when the video is about a cuttlefish or an octopus

  • lol wuts fake about it?

its not saying tht the octopus did a magic trick

    its camoflaged

    which is pretty amazing

  • That is amazing!

  • If you think like Douglas Adams, then this could certainly prove the non-existence of God. God only exists through faith, and without faith, he would cease to exist. "But the amazing camouflage of the octopus is a dead giveaway," says man. "It's so incredibly unlikely that it proves your existence, eliminating fate, so therefore you do not exist." "Oh," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," as he dissapears into a puff of smoke.

It's whatever you believe it is. If religion is your way, good.

  • wtf? u arrogant fool. this is an amazing evolutionarily skill. Not something 'god' did.

So if god can, say make an octopus invisible, why does he allow so many innocent lives to be wasted???

  • I srsly didn't want to reply, but people seem not to understand that the philosophy of life is to make choices and be able to experience the consequences so you can be punished/rewarded for your actions. And that my friend is the philosophy of life from my prospective as a religious man

Either ways no one can deny how awesome this is, just goes to show how little we know about this world

PS if this appears out of context it's a reply on someone's comment (I hope the system won't make it alone)

  • Comment removed

  • No, not evolution your butt.

there's clear incontrovertible evidence of evolution.

I feel pity that your education seems to have lacked this.

  • God? Is The Sun. Sun of God,Not Son of God Idiot. Read Up On your pagan History. The Christian religion is a fraud and has over 34,000 subgroups. A Church divided is NO church at all!!

  • I agree with you.

  • I believe I read somewhere that they can also change their skin texture.

    That's amazing.

    I wish I was an octopus :D

  • If the military wants some cloaking devices made, they should study this octopussy.

  • wow.

  • my favorite kind of octopussy

  • cool!! wow, how do they do that?

  • booom octocamo hahaha

  • holy shit!

  • Thats amazing I wonder wat would happen if you skinn.....Oh never mind

  • fanstastic!!! but octopus can even write letters on his suit and also copy chees desk

  • I wish i had a octocamo suit:)

  • when you think of changing camouflage like this most think of chameleons, but the octopus is much better at it, being able to match surface texture and shape as well as pattern.

  • exactly....everyone associates camouflage with chameleons from a young age but how come this amazing shape and colour changing ability with octpuses is not common knowledge at all? it blows my mind how something this amazing cannot be widely known

  • You spelled "camouflage" wrong...

  • Imagine being able to do that. Impresive!

  • sorry but its true, that footage came from national geographic

  • no its true i saw a similar programme on the BBC (mainstream channel) here in england. the changes they can perform are amazing

  • I didn't know it is possible! it's incredible...

wow, Nie wiedizałem, że to jest możliwe. Niewiarygodne...

  • Fantastic.

  • no fake

  • How about you SCUBA dive for awhile or try to not be an ignorant prick.
