Christopher columbus and his enterage were ethnically cleansing, greedy and souless cunts......he ruined a utopia which welcomed hime with open hands....untill he cut them off when they didn't "give" him their natural resources forcefully mined through brutality and slavery.......ring any bells?
The comments echo the nonsense that passes for historical research. Columbus was a great navigator. He was able to complete an unprecedented journey without the benefit of longitude and he was able to duplicate those journeys relying on the system known as dead reckoning, a remarkable achievement. He was a product of his time and certainly had his faults. If you want to read a real biography and a load of revisionist tripe try Samuel Morrison's work "Columbus"
"Columbus died a disappointed man".....thank god for that shit. I was hoping someone would have dismembered him slowly and burned his remains with dog shit.
It was not a long journey, it lasted one month. The entire time it was great weather and clear sky until they hit land.
Second part "sent their natives" by sent I hope you mean kidnapped because they were kidnapped.
For anyone who admires him, a quote from one of his letters in 1500 to a friend.
"a hundred castellanos are as easily obtained for a women as for a farm, and it is very general and there are plenty of dealers who go about looking for girls; those from nine to ten are now in demand"
