  • hey what materials did you use im going to make one my self i need a list

  • Hi, well this one is made literally just from wood. Apart from just a few metal & plastic bits on the model it's just all wood really.

  • hi mate how you geting on with your model,i will be putting a new video on in the next few days,of my 1/24th model skid, wel on its way to being finished, please comment ,and let me know what you think

    cheers h2fok

  • Hi h2fok,

Things have been very slow over the past few months due to having the attic extended so I haven't really touched the Waltzer and other models since late November. Nowhere to put the models now until I've sorted everything, so I've had to pull most of them down. I'm hoping I will get up there this week to plan it all out then I'll be glad to resume the progress on the Waltzer and my other models. Will keep you updated.

Look forward to seeing your Skid.

    Regards, Shane.

  • cheers for that shane,gl with the rest of your model

  • im building one based on terry hills waltzer, got the base girders n trams on so far.does anyone know how to go about getting the artwork done,i want scrolls n swirls as id like it to look exactly like the real machine..very good model by the way simon

  • Hi Simon,

Thanks for your comment. The easiest way to do the artwork is, photograph the real swirls on the real ride. Go home, print them off on sticker paper, and stick them on to your rounding boards, panels etc. Make sure you resize your pictures of the artwork to the right size of your model, though, as they usually come out quite big.

  • cool model where can i buy one already done and how much am i looking at paying for one ?

  • Well, people build these from scratch or using plans. You are un-likely to find one already built with lights, artwork etc, but there may be the odd one on eBay every now & then that will work but doesn't come with lights.

  • good little model waltzer there shane' will it have people on it? i recently got some for mine' it makes all the difference and more life like.

  • Yes, it will be having figures in the cars. The whole model should hopefully be finished by the end of next month...

  • ordering my waltzer plans hopefully for christmas, lets hope I follow the project through!

  • Nice one. Good luck & keep us updated.

  • Your work looks great Shane keep it up mate, how long has it all taken you?

  • Hi,

Well, I bought the model ready made & painted. I've just repainted the uprights and put lights on the model. But it took me about 3 weeks to do in my spare time as I had a problem with the motor after I bought the model. Had to fix that first then I went straight to adding things to the model, ie speakers, lights etc. :)

It's still not finished, though, but there's no rush to complete it. ;)

  • looking good' and the cars spin great.

  • its coming on well mate well done
