  • EASY ON THE EARS & EASY ON THE EYES....

  • @debrucey I'd wipe the floor with her, if she'd let me!

  • Debrucey, you probably have friends that simply wipe the floor. I'll give you that. Maybe. She is awesome both to listen and to look at. Deal with it. Let people do what they do best. She'll play Rachmaninoff and you go back to wiping floors (with your friends!)

  • Please, wear a Giant Wool Sweater Lady, I can't concentrate on the Music.

  • Beautiful! I play these songs for my 2 week old when I am feeding her!

  • Virtuosa with sex appeal. If she made a dvd where she plays naked, she could make a fortune.

  • This is passion, true passionate playing.

    Excellent, Lola.

  • Makes me both happy and sad to read that info, happy because you get your debut at Carnegie Hall, congratulations I knew you would make it you are very special and will go far with your music. The sad part is because I can't be there, no money and not even in the same country but it's the first time I really felt sad for missing out on something. I hope you have a wonderful time, I know how much you practiced for everything through life so you deserve the time you have now in the spotlight.

  • woah! you really look amazing! beautiful girl and beautiful song! keep up the good work! =)

  • @sk7ca I'm trying to imagine what Lola would do to you if you said that right to her face. Would she smile and say Thank You!, or slap you right across the jaw. I think the latter is most likely.

  • @Zircemerald I just say what i think about the video and the person in it. Is that forbidden?

  • that such a brooding sound can be so uplifting!

  • this made me feel sad...=(....is it supposed to???

  • Wikipedia -Astanova started touring as a concert pianist at the age of eight. She performed in Germany, France...and Russia both solo programs and with orchestras. In 1996, she was Laureate of the International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Moscow. In 1998, ...in the UNESCO documentary "Prodigies of the 20th Century". In 2003, she emigrated to the United States.... In 2005, she received her Master's Degree (summa cum laude) from Rice University.

    Read about her in Wikipedia.

  • 2:03 - 2:07 reason I'm seeing you live, glad your in the big apple :)

  • hope you'll post some of your original compositions if you have. Love your piano playing. :)

  • I just love Rachmaninoff piano music....definitely my favorite. I wish that there were some Rachmaninoff tuba solos :)

Lola, you are a living legend!!!

  • Sometimes it's white underwear (Liszt), sometimes it's black. : )

  • my only question .. has she ever smiled? even once? so beautiful.. so sad... scary

  • I would marry her.

  • Больше чувства в этой песне вы не можете привить

  • excellent performance! ... alsoo you looks soo beautiful... please forgive me but thats true...

  • I love you

  • Very beautiful performance. Many thanks.

  • It was not long ago that I've discovered your beautiful music. Prior to that, I only had one love - Martha Argerich. For years she was my queen, her sound, her approach, her pianism spoke to me like no other. Now that I've heard some of your music I feel as if I've found something that is very powerful and real. Your playing is absolutely brilliant. I will follow your music and your career the same way I did Martha's. You really surprised me. Yours truly, Dan.

  • Holy shit holy shit holy shit this is like everything i love all in one video.

  • Thank you, Sergei Rachmaninoff! Through your music, you have touched the hearts of millions of people, and given us a treasure of incalculable worth.

Thank you, Lola! Through your performances here on YouTube, you have brought this wonderful music to life for thousands of people who would otherwise never have heard it. When I listen to you play, I feel like my soul is in your hands, and that it is very safe there.

  • I really really really love this =)

  • Lola this is very beautiful, how and you gracefully...!!!

  • Your performance reminded me a LOT of LIszt's Evening Harmony. I wonder if Rach was inspired by that. I also wonder if this was played during the evening...it's hard to tell in that Steinway Fortress of Solitude. ;)

  • Блестяще, Лола !

    И дух Рахманинова ...Звучит.

    Браво...

  • Amazing work you did.You put a lot of passion and felling into it.

  • I love ya.. !!

  • потрясающе.

  • When will you do concerts ?

  • I truly enjoy your music dear Lola; I also love to watch your expressions and hand movements. Perr

  • some people here have commented on your physical mannerisms. some may like them, some not so much. i personally fall into the second group. but focusing on that aspect is really missing the point of this video. your phrasing, your tone color, your overall sound are simply amazing here. this is truly a genius performance!

  • PLAY NO.4.!!

  • beautiful!

  • Lola, if I were you, I would go to a music store's piano section and play a song like this just to give the other customers a free concert.

Or play your version of Don't Stop the Music! It's one of the most exciting and beautiful songs I've ever heard!

  • Sublime, dynamic and timbral richness, expressive! Thanks

    Greetings from Sardinia

  • Beautiful, awesome, well executed.

  • simply beaufitul !! to hear and to watch!

please delight us also with No.6 ! i am dying to hear that from you !!

  • That is very beautiful! I like this piece more than most of Sergei's.

  • i love you xoxo

  • Another lovely performance! That particular Steinway D sounded really nice as well but you already knew that since you picked it out, Lola!

  • Crushing beauty.

  • Wonderful. Thank you!

  • Mesmerizing...oh!

  • There is a beautiful tension within this piece that is well played. Thank you.

  • The calm after the storm of No. 4, it seems. Very nice interpretation!

  • hermosa la pieza y hermosa tu = )

  • lola astonova IS perfection

  • Don't listen to the one person who disliked this. You're amazingly talented!

  • You need to get into a real studio and away from the music store...I am following you...great work...keep it up!!!!

  • Will you marry me?

  • Phenomenal

  • Hypnotically beautiful..... and the music was good too

  • beautiful.........thanks!

  • Very nice

  • Damn ur beautiful..........Your playing is outstanding to say the least :)))))

  • What the hell is she doing with her left shoulder at 1:15?

  • @debrucey That's called being passionate about the music that you're playing. It takes a lot to play from the soul like she does...

  • @jeremywilson15147 I know what being passionate is. I've never seen a pianist stick their shoulder so far forwards as that, passionate or not.

  • @debrucey Different people get into it different ways. I look like a retard with Tourrett's Syndrome when I get into something I'm playing on the drums, and I can't help but rock back and forth when I'm playing the guitar.... So maybe this is just how she gets into it.

  • @jeremywilson15147 Maybe, looks very tense though. I hope she doesn't injure herself, you have to think about these things when you practice as much as she does.

  • @debrucey Exactly: people who know nothing of classical music are impressed by these showy, poser gestures which are obviously calculated for photogenic angle and for showing the mere "image" or pretense of emotion. She has excellent technique, but with her gimmicks (the ridiculous showboat orgasm finales, for example), she will also be a music clown for any serious listeners, until she gives those bad habits up and lets the music, and her otherwise fine artistry, speak for themselves.

  • @StoneChords I wouldn't say it was an 'excellent' technique. I mean, she knows her way around the piano that much is clear, but I have friends that could wipe the floor with her.

  • I wonder what she is thinking while playing...

  • Waiting for the next one. You are Beautiful

  • i have never subscribed to anybody before, you are truly derserving! i've been a fan of yours since the rihanna video! LOLA!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

  • One thing is for sure, you have really good posture...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Everything in this video is beautiful.
