  • Great sounding 2001-SRN, Dylan. Very nice video. :)

  • About 0:40 of the video, I hear a Tbolt 1000T. Am I right?

  • Yep you heard a Thunderbolt set on chopper level 4 in the background. :)

  • I like the distance you where from this 2001 and the thunderbolt also sounds cool

  • Nice video, Dylan. The 2001 and the thunderbolts are my two favorite sirens.

  • How did you take snap shot photos while taking the video? Do you have a special kind of camera or did you use special editing software?

  • My camcorder has a "snapshot" button, which creates a still image while recording. I accidentally pressed it while trying to get a better hold of the camcorder.

  • I thinks Federal Signal 2001s were first installed in 1988.

  • The older (roundback) ones were.

  • Oh Yeah. Those are called 2001 ABs. I know what you mean. It first came 2001 AB, 2001 DC, 2001 SRN, 2001 SRNB, and last but not least 2001 130.

  • You should get a recording of that thunderbolt in the background someday.

  • Opps! I mean late 80s...

  • Federal Signal 2001s were installed somewere in the late 80s right?

  • They started making them in the late 90s yes...

  • I mean 80s yes...

  • That thunderbolt you can hear sounds pretty loud. I wounder how close it is to the siren you are recording now.

  • About a Mile away...

  • This the best sounding 2001 i have ever heard. i usually dont like these sirens but this one sounds good!

  • Lol u can hear a thunderbolt on the back

  • Was that siren really loud?

  • Wasn't as loud as i thought it would have been but it was still a bit loud when it rotated my way.

  • Well isnt a 2001 130db?

  • No its a 2001 V. 3 which is 128db

  • those sirens always have the coolest sounds

  • it actually spins...haha

  • Good work, man! I miss the KS statewide tornado drills (I'm a native of Olathe). I have a siren test in my vids but you can't see it. One of these days I'm gonna skip work (or go in late, they test our sirens in Cedar Rapids at 8:45 am first Wednesday) and see if I can catch one. We have Whelen 3016's with voice capabilities but there are still a few T-bolt's around.

  • I noticed that in your tornado warning video that the T-Bolts are more prominent than the 3016 until the voice of the 3016.

  • That's cuz the closest siren to me is a T-Bolt. If you look at my siren test video, you'll hear a 3016 much better because I lived about a 1/4 mile away from one. You'll also hear a Sentry that's independent of the entire system of Cedar Rapids, which I lived directly across from. Very cool.

  • Oops, I meant you can't see the actual siren! You can totally see the vid, and I recommend it!

  • Ahhhhhh, the loverrly harmonics of tornado sirens.

    :)

  • What truck do you drive?

  • What do you mean? Who's?

  • The vehicle that you are in. Who owns it?

  • Me...

  • And what make is it? Ford? Dodge? Toyota?

  • this siren is loud
