Hmmm. I've had an LG dishwasher for 4-and-a-half years now. Never had any problems. I would actually recommend the brand. LD14AT3 is the model number.

Miele Dishwashers wash better without Steam and use less energy and water!

Also the watervalve for the "Duo Intensity Wash" has a Problem! At 1:56 you can see, that the lower sprayarm is moving at the same time as the upper one is working!

SAVE YOUR MONEY BY NOT BUYING LG APPLIANCES! ;D

LIfe is good my ASS..they keep giving me the run around about my DEFECTIVE DISHWASHER Model LDS 5811 ST. They sent out an unauthorized LG repair guy because they can't find one to come to my area!! The guy they sent 12/30/10 says it's UNFIXABLE and now they are giving me a hard time about replacing the unit!! BUY FROM SEARS and avoid LG products!!

On a more positive note compared to my last message I left on here, this is a good commercial. Unlike those other lame commercials for dishwashers where they play a rock music song and photograph the machine in special lighting, this commercial actually tells you what's different about their machine and how to load it properly, use the controls, etc.. Cheapers dishwashers don't have racks like this one and the controls are skimpy..

The steam is a heat boost, soak and germ killing feature, however consumer index reviews say it's a waste, cause the manufacturers charge too much for this feature, and it's advantage doesn't provide anything more than say, a longer wash time could provide.

@glenfieldmathk1 you don't need this LG brand of dishwasher in the UK, LG's dishwasher reputation is terrible. Siemens, Asko, Miele, Gaggenau, Thermador and Bosch make dishwashers 1000 times better than this Korean junk.
