Love this song - hate the video. Too literal. The lyrics are so clear, there's no need to embellish them with word-for-word visual representation, handed to the audience.
But, hey, we didn't know what we were doing back then!
Really brings back memories. All my albums are now gone and am now kicking myself for getting rid of them. This song rocked when the volume was cranked!!! Wonder where I could find a copy now? Any suggestions anybody?
Do you happen to have TERRITORIAL? I remember that video so well, esp. the sort of butcher aspects of the bodies suspended from a rack, and can't find it on YouTube anywhere. :(
Thank you so much, Howard, for this and all the other rare treats you have posted. I have been a fan of Carole, with or without Rough Trade for thirty years and this is the first time I have seen this video!!
One of the truly great Canadian bands. Can you imagine what Carole would have to say in her lyrics today if they were still together, given all the sexual controversy that's gone down over the last 25 years?
@jannyrcobs You should get Carole's 'Transcend' CD. Some people may find parts of it too 'folky' but I love it. I just wrote a review on Amazon last week. Her lyrics are still among the best out there.
man, does anyone else get the feel like they're watching a literal video even though they know better?
