Hordak was actually fighting King Grayskull not Skeletor. I have the whole series. Who ever edited this is a liar and he/she knows it. Grayskull was killed and Hordak sent to another dimension along with his evil horde.
@metalore they did, but the series didn't get to last as long as they wanted it to, they explain all of this in the special features of season 3 I think, the last episode is a digital comic, so there are only 3 seasons of this one :( the only thing wrong with this one was that cringer didn't talk
@ultraveburas I don't think they said it would've happened for sure, but a "possibility" was mentioned by Mike Young (according to he-man.org).
Now even though Hordak was Skeletor's teacher, that doesn't mean Skeletor didn't have it in him to surpass Hordak. I've read on various internet sites that if they did continue season 3, Skeletor would've eventually defeated Hordak. To quote Darth Vader, "When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master!"
Props on convincing most people here that this was a real fight between them and not just clips from Hordak's fight with Grayskull and random clips of skeletor from other episodes.
Although the cartoon itself is early 2000s, it's still based on an 80s icon. So with that and the mixture of another 80s icon(Princes of the Universe by Queen from Highlander), this is nostalgia-gasm. :)
That NEW He-man was the greatest. They Made Hordak a Bad-ass and not comic relief... and Skeletor was just evil....and the whole "Rise of The Snake Men" Saga. was just pure Geniuis.
yeah but I really dont like the new drawing style, looks too silly. i like the old drawing style where everything was plain bad ass and not "stylized" like this is some sort of world of mastersoftheuniverse. :/
Skeletor always beat Hordak in the 80's cartoon. Skeletor beat Hordak two times, the one time on the Horde Prime Ship when Skeletor zapped him with his Havoc staff and that other episode when Skeletor knocked him out with sleep mist from his hand and then Skeletor captured Shadow Weaver as well and trapped them both in a Magic Cage.
because I only checked my vids messages TODAY as I actually have a life unlike some fuckshits who have nothing better to do than be a total ass about a simple bloody spelling mistake
Yer but Hordak just gets trapped in a different world sorat thing and skeletor doesn't so i would love to see Hordak fight skeletor. Lets face it he ain't ever getting out.
@Flarekill Wow, that is impressive 80's knowledge. Was it a fair fight? I was just a kid but I remember Hordak being represented as a bigger threat, which is why Adora got the slightly better sword with the jewel in it to make her She-Ra. Then again, it could be my childhood brain filling in things that weren't explained. You might actually know though. Can't wait to hear your answer.
Hordak was presented as a greater threat, but all in all whenever they came in contact with him he usually turned out to be more bumbling than Skeletor. I think the implication is that since, Skeletor got better (Hordak liked technology, while Skeletor was better with magic) but yeah, in the actual episode the two sort of took turns shooting beams at each-other, until Hordak let himself be distracted and turned his head, and Skeletor got his hit in.
True. But sometimes, the student takes his teacher's knowledge and adds to it, and is thus able to best him. That is the sign of a good teacher. Skeletor defeated Hordak twice in the original 80's series, both in one-on-one battle.
Yes. He was the one that save Skeletor's life and gave him his powers in return that Skeletor free him from his imprisonment in a dimension called Dispondos. Hordak also was a fixture in the story of King Greyskull who He-man can traces his powers back to. Greyskull sacraficed himself to banish Hordak to Dispondos. Other then these event, Hordak never had a direct effect in the story. Although attempt were made by Evil Lyn to free him.
The were only a handle full. The first was ep. 2 in the first season where hordak saved skeletors life and provided him with his magical powers. Another ep. was the story of King Grey Skull told during the Snakmen series and last one that I know of was an ep occurring sometime late in the Snakemen series, featuring Evil Lyn attempt to free Hordak from Despondos. I think there were one or two more. But I don't remember those off hand.
Yea they did. It was a movie that brought in thet new she-ra cast. They show how Hordak and his side kick Skeletor kidnapped one of the twins (she-ra). Hordak fled with the girl, and left Skeletor to take blame for it. hordak returns, and Skeletor kicks his ass!! Classic movie that launched the She-ra series.
Cool little vid like this version of Hordak though. I watched some clips of the old version and boy I had an idae. What would happen if both version came across each other. I vote for the newer version.
Skeletor is the more powerful of the two! He is the ultimate sorcerer and villain and has no equal!

Hordak and Skeletor are both idiots! I'm sure they'd find a way for He-Man or She-Ra or both to win the fight ;)
By the way I love this redesign on Hordak - he looks genuinely creepy and kinda cool.

It could be a good Cartoon.
But the design is very robotic, squared.
They style is cheap when you compare the orignal cartoon which was very psychedelic in terms of photograph and songs.

"Out of the Past" is the one being shown here, and it has by far the most depictions of him.
"The Price of Deceit" is where he turns Keldor into Skeletor.
"Separation" is where he creates the entire dark hemisphere on Eternia.
"Lessons" is where Evil Lyn almost frees him from Despondos.
...had the show progressed toa 4th season, she would've been successful, and he would've replaced King Hsss as the 2nd-tier villain.
