We are stuck in this position because the world doest understand how hard it is to live in this country. even without the palestinians, we have lebannon, jordan, iran, egypt, and syria to worry about. A country like ours stands in the position of constant threat from every side.

New Year Tree's first showed up in Russia in the 1700's....so its been around for quite a while, and was not started by Jews...so how they used it as a false religion/rhetoric is beyone me. Not to mention that the original Christmas Trees come from the Yule Tree, which was a Pagan Holiday...So you could more easily argue that the Christmas tree was an excellent indication of false religion & history being used by CHRISTIANS as rhetoric for occupying foreign lands!

Here's a thought not meant to anger anyone, just get you thinking. Make sure something really pleases God before you accept it. Do some research for yourselves. Just because a tradition is tied to something you like or deem good doesn't mean God approves of it. The first thing God instructed his people to NOT do was to copy pagan forms of worship. What did they do? They copied pagan forms of worship and tied them to Godly worship. Here we are still doing it....all with good intentions.

@hoosierhiver I know God hates for his children to mimic Pagan forms of worship and if you'll do just a little research you would find that almost every holiday we celebrate is rooted deeply in paganism. Did you know that Tammuz's birthday was celebrated on Dec. 25th? Jesus was born sometime in the Fall not Dec. 25th. Constantine tied them together to unite the masses. Ezekiel chapter 8 tells us how much God hates it when His children honor Tammuz in any way. This is only one example of many.

Although being merry and giving is always a good thing, true Christianity is measured by our willingness to obey God's word especially when it comes to putting things aside that we want in favor of the things God wants. We are taught from birth to fight for what we want. Temper tantrums are commonplace very early in life. But not in a true Christian's home.

Everyone in the new testament, (especially Jesus) obeyed every word that proceeded out of God's mouth. How would you feel if you could go 500 years into the future and the World's new main holiday was Sept. 11 and children were taught to fly around the room then crash into two tall cardboard boxes full of candy?
