I realize this is a basic proof of concept test but at around17 seconds, when the carriage began to travel back towards the motor I noticed a strange speed variation. It looked as if the carriage started up quickly then settled into a slower consistent motion. I hope this will not be an issue in the production model as it would make recorded footage look jumpy.
Amazing but..... Listen to me very, very carefully. If you design this motor to do real-time movements along with very slow motion for time-lapse (continuous and shot-move modes), ramping ( slowly bringing the carriage upto full speed over an adjustable time period) and price it under $300 you will make a fortune! I will buy one RIGHT NOW if you can make that happen.
did you pull that out of a printer?

Quick question. Will this be sold as a separate piece to the cineSlider or will they only be available as a kit?
I'm asking because I'm planning on ordering a cineSlider next week.
Thanks!

The motor drive will be an add-on for both the CineSlider and Pocket Dolly (w/ crank)
