How does one hate and feel such wonder and bliss at the same time? Why is my soul full of tears when I know that true heaven as this creation exsists? How my heart bleeds for those that do not yield to its love, to its forgiveness. I am a child when touched by beauty, I am happy when others embrace the spirit of timeless muse. What is a mere angel to this? seraphim with faded pale wings that do not fly. Oh! but now I have heard the very voice of God himself, if we listen to it we will love.
Why does it say "John Zorn - Part 2" in the description? I really like John Zorn and this, what I'm listening for the first time, is really wonderful but how are John Zorn and Arvo Part connected here?
A picture is worth more then an thousandth words. It can be cold, It can be hot, It can be dark, It can be bright, It can be what every it 's delight.
have you heard the sound of the heart? these music comes from Heaven.. imagine that there music is infinite more perfect and perfect then that.. thank You God for wanting me to exist, for me and for all my brothers and sister that you've made so that you're genorosity and Love have no limits..
we are all trying to say something that we cant quite express, isnt that the point of music like this, to reach beyond ones grasp, such a shame we dont live together like we used to x
At the beginning of music culture, tonality was a message from God(s) or spirits. Today minimal tonality and minimal sounds of nature are equally powerfull message... The travel from past and nowadays in this prospective is short
i think you're the one who needs to grow up. if you don't like it, leave and don't waste our time with meaningless words. this fantastic music doesn't need all the annoying complexity. at least Part and a few others write what is in their soul. that is true musicienship.
If faith in Christianity leads somebody to write this variety of sap, I'll gladly continue my path as a jagged modernist plunging towards a dissonant damnation. The attitude that many people cop when defending the profoundly safe horseshit Part composes is pathetic and tiresome after a while also.
@cleomagoolando I don't like this piece much either, (I think Santcus and Lamentate are much better) but you're not a badass just because you reject Jesus or listen to hardcore music.
No, you're a badass if you use a chainsaw to cut off your own head on stage at one of your own death metal concerts.
Or, like Don Giovanni, if you believe in God but decide you'd rather be damned, just because it would be more extreme.
Everyone is after all entitled to their respectful opinion. I have noticed that fans of various artists do sometimes get pretty militant about their adoration.

Great art since the Greeks has be the balance of the intellect and beauty. Most of Parts work does not contain the first of these attributes. It is for me fake art. How many time could youi listen to this before goint ot the hospital for the mentally ill.? Boring!!!!
Oh i was unaware we were in the presence of a qualified music critic?
If you can define such thing as objective intellect and objective beauty i will shut up. But given the fact you simply can't, noone cares about your opinion on music.

fake art! that's like my favorite concept.
the thing I'm currently wondering is how many times I can read pompous, creatively spelled youtube comments before I go insane.
anyway, great video! I heart Part!

In this capitalistic subculture. It is really hard to find art who is not fake, art that is pure expression. But Arvo Pärt and Björk is pionérs.
It will one day kill the subculture completly.

in this subcultual capitalism it is hard to find art that is not fake.
But there is someone who shows us optimistic glimses of a new day, like Pärt
The sun is rising and will soon kill all the subcultural darkness.
Music for comerce is boring. I have heard it all my life. I am tierd of it.
Forget pleasing others, make the beauty for you and God, and everything else will come to.
early rising people are awake.

Well thats because his music is minimalist not boring. There's a difference. His music to me is: Music at its simplest and profound.
