just saw your comment on this song of nana mouskouri. how can you say this song is ugly?? what a beautiful song sung by a lovely lady with a beautiful voice!! love her voice and love listening to mostof her songs, especially White rose of Athens, greek song Ximeroni, Aleluya, Only love, etc. Greetings from sri lanka
@koikila: she has performed / recorded in hebrew, japanese, dutch, corse (spoken on the island of la corse (france)/korsika, gaelic, portuguese, catalan and of course greek, too.
Avrebbe potuto fare grandi cose
I was going to ask how many languages she spoke, so far i've found songs in english, french, italian, spanish and deutch! I think that comes along with - reflects her- great ear and vocalization...her skills to work with her voice and sounds it's not a coincidence.. speaks of a greac integrate singer-vocalist (sorry about my spelling)
@koikila Nana's programmes which one would get at her concerts lists the languages which you gave plus her native Greek, of course. Her classical training, which taught her to "sing on the vowels" in any language led her to be able to sing in such other languages as Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Dutch and even Maori of New Zealand, among others. You can find examples of most of these here on Youtube.
wow questa canzone l'ho sentita quando imparavo la lingua italiana wow hehhee... mi piace da morire questa canzone... mi ricorda uhhh un bel ragazzo... G. A.
The picture at the top says "barcafenoir", but it sure looks like Charles Aznavoir a long time singing partner of Nana's and delightful comrade to her much of her career. If this is you CA... Thank you very much for your support, and we appreciate all your talents also. Soory if I didn't spell your name right.
Thanks a lot Kostas for sharing and barcafenoir for posting this video. Nice lyrics about the love that suddenly blazed up like a fire :-)... Could you please translate two words: "m'arrossiva" and "t'arrabbiare"? Thank you in advance...
In Yugoslavia, Lola Novakovic was a super star with this song....

Could Anyone kindly post Nana's Mamma song.... the one depicting life in a refugee camp. It lyrics are thus;
This is the tale of a little boy
Wandering far from his home
Most of his family were with him then
And nothing but life did they own
Tortured by war in their native land
Their only recourse was to flight
Tracing the path of the sun by day
