  • Does this have phase detection auto focus?

  • Hi Billy, we are currently waiting for firmware update 1.03 (as rumored). Will there be? any specific date? thanks fujiguys, im loving my x10.

  • @roy2886 Please be patient a "little" longer. Thanks

  • Bill, you are a rock star. I am ordering this camera right now. My main camera is a D700 and I have lots of lenses to go with it. Wonderful camera. Don't want to carry it an its lenses everywhere. I have the Canon S90, which is a great camera. Thought about getting the S100... until I saw this video. Thanks a million.

  • Great Video Guys. I am considering pulling the trigger on X10. But I would not really call this a point and shoot. Imagine you are taking pictures on a trip and ask someone to snap a few photos of you and the wife. You tell them "Just a second let me show you how to fiddle with this and that. Better yet, watch this video of the Fuji guys on my phone they explain it better" Its more like the a macro 2/3 camera.

  • you say the shutter allows for a manual shutter release cord to be attached, does this then mean the shutter can remain open? and therefore cancel out any problems this camera may have in low light situations

  • @86CJW Camera has a thread on the shutterbutton for a cable release. It can be used for long exposure while minimize camera shake when using a cable release.

  • Question? Because the X10 has a wider F2.0 does it mean that it will beat the X-S1 in Low-Light even thou they have the same sensor?

  • @giantiger12 Its a faster lens than the X-S1 so with the X10, you can shoot in the same lighting situation as the X-S1 but use a slightly faster shutterspeed. It doesn't really mean it beats the X-S1 in Low-light because both lens are still very fast.

  • so understanding the camera has no built in art filters like Olympus PEN series. in deed i would have to use what the fuji software

  • any art filters on this model

  • @MyStormVideos No. The included My FinePix Studio can be used to do some cool filter effects.

  • Pleaaaase make a FAQ video for X10 as you do for the X100...

  • get the Olympus Epl series intead. more value for your money, bigger sensor and compact too.

  • PLEASE TELL FUJI TO FIX THE WDS(white dot syndrome)!!! :(((((

  • A very well done series on the X10, Fujiguys! Very instructive. I've been using the camera for 10 days but you taught me several tricks I had not yet learned.

  • I am discovering that shots converted to DNG in CR 6.6 are less sharp than JPG straight from the camera. Are there a problem from adobe sides with for instance interpolish logarithm with RAW files, or are the RAW files from the fuji camera to challenging for adobe to work with?

I was really hoping for some great results with the RAW files, but i am dissapointed of them beeing worse then the JPG, on the edge of trash.. Would like some statement! I know several users that share this problem..

  • @MrFrev We provide the necessary data for 3rd party software to work with our RAW files. We don't have control on how Adobe or other 3rd Party software handles our RAW file. Fujifilm RAW are a little more complicated as they don't use the standard Bayer Filter Arrays like most cameras but an EXR filter array instead.

  • @MichelAngelosLens See comment by Basemanforever. Yes, it operates that way. IN PSAM, set Resolution to M and camera will take advantage of S/N (like S/N EXR). If you increase ISO to 400+, than you can also use DR by changing DR manually in shooting menu. For RAW, i don't have an answer yet.

  • Thanks for the video - really helpful to understand the features. I got my X10 the other day, and unfortunately the user manual is pretty thin on a lot of the basic functions. (For example, I can't seem to get the AEL/AFL button to work, are there only certain modes that it works in?). What I could REALLY use is a video that is an in depth tuturial on the basic functions and options in each shooting mode. Please make this available if you can so I can start getting the most out of the X10!

  • @tkbuz Depending on how you setup the AEL/AFL button to operate, it's function does change a litte. For example, in Manual Focus, the AEL/AFL acts as a instant focus button, in other modes A, S, M, you must disable Face Detection in order for that button to operate. You can set AEL/AFL to lock when holding down the button or change it in the setup menu to press once to lock without holding down. You can set it to lock just focus or exposure or both.

  • Hi guys -

Thanks for informative video. When I go to autoEXR mode my LCD screen loses the pic and I have a green cross and no info. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? My display is set to 'custom".

Thanks for the help. Otherwise the X10 absolutely rocks.

  • @61Endell Press the "DISP" button to toggle between the different display. INFO Display, STANDARD, INFO OFF, OFF. No Custom display in AUTO EXR.

  • @fujiguys what is that green cross and no info screen used for? I don't get it.

  • @llncm The "No Info Screen" removes all information displayed on the LCD and allows you to compose a screen without all the text distraction. The "Green Cross", if you are referring to the "Info Display" mode. In that mode, it displays all the shooting information like shutterspeed, aperture and ISO and also other settings like the Focus point (green cross). Hope that makes sense.

  • @fujiguys yeah that makes sense a little, it' just info display display mode where the screen is black and all you have is a green cross is a little hard to understand. Can't think of a scenario to use it in

  • @llncm The screen is an info screen and is used when you mainly use the OVF. Then you can look down and then see shooting information. On older DSLR cameras, there use to be a LCD panel on the right side of them that displayed similar information. This display is mimic'ing the same thing using the main LCD instead.

  • @fujiguys ooohhhh right, ok. That has made things more clear. Thank you!

  • Hi, i currently already own a Fuji X10, i was wondering how do i do HDR photography?

I've just move up from a point and shot, so please help me

  • @corbraz 1. Camera has extendend dynamic range by shooting in EXR D/R mode. 2. For extreme HDR, like any camera, shot in RAW and then create two additional images that are under and overexposed. Use S/W to make as one. 3. Shoot 3 Jpegs (under, over, even exposured), use S/w to merge. 4. Use DR bracketing mode, use S/W to merge.

  • @ybarza Please have a look at dpreview for latest statement from Fujifilm.

  • @fujiguys Yes I saw that today. I wouldn't say it is normal but I am glad that Fuji is coming out with a fix. I left the Canon and Nikon compact/bridge cameras for Fuji and still have my wonderful S100fs and looking forward to the XS-1. This is great customer service on Fuji's part!

  • Now I really want an X10... Useful video, saves me having to read the manual ;)

  • Hey fujiguys,

Is it possible to screw on a filter directly onto the lensbarrel without having to put on the separately sold lens hood?

If so, does the included lens cap still fit onto the camera when there is a filter attached?

    Thanks in advance!

  • @MapIest0ryr0cks No. We recommend the available adapter ring / lens hood in order to attach a filter.

  • @fujiguys

I've read on forums that a 40mm filter fits nicely onto the lens without the use of an adapter ring or lens hood.

Can this damage the lens barrel threads or should it be fine?

If decide to get this camera I would like to keep it as compact as possible and I like to be able to use the provided lens cap (and maybe get that leather case).

Do you guys recommend the use of an filter to protect the lens from scratches under normal shooting conditions?

    Thanks.

  • @MapIest0ryr0cks - There is a good discussion on the RangeFinderForum(dot)com that discusses some filters that fit. Apparently, the filter size is about 39.5, but most 40 mm filtes will not fit it. Maybe some Marumis, but Wolf Camera has old Sunpak 40.5 filters that fit. Some discussion about manufacturing tolerances seems to explain why some filters fit and others do not.

  • @MichelAngelosLens I'll get back to your questions next week and give you an answer. Thanks

  • This video should be called "user manual" instead of top features. Amazing camera. I even think of trading my entry level DSLR for it.

  • can't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for the post

  • Amazing amount of info helping out a prospective buyer immensely! :-)

  • wonderful! But I'm still dreaming about the return of a professional Fuji

  • @BasemanForever wow! i guess ima have to wait! i read the X-S1 has a 26x zoom n maybe interchangeable lens. the 1st REAL Mirrorless DLSR cant wait!!

  • Hey Fujiguys! My X10 arrived yesterday and it's flat-out amazing! The colors, high-ISO, build and features are leagues above the Canon S90 it replaced. I could hardly imagine a better camera for the money. Hats off to you both, Fujifilm is on a roll!

  • Awesome Awesome camera!

  • Fantastic pictures you took!!

  • @MichelAngelosLens I have the HS20EXR which uses the same EXR tech. Yes you can get increased DR in PASM in one of two ways. 1st you can change the image size down to M. That will give you a DR choice of 100%, 200% & 400%. If you'd rather leave the image size as L, then at 100 ISO you're stuck with DR at 100%. You can get DR 200% if you change the ISO to 200. And DR 400% can be achieved if you go ISO 400 or higher. This is how the HS20 is and I assume the X10 is the same.

  • WOW, im very impressed! the overall response time of this x10 its SUPERFAST!! If Fuji Makes a HS30, they should use the same features but with a bigger sensor bcuz the X10 surpasses the HS20!! i think i need to sell my HS20 n get the X10, unless theres gonna be a HS30 soon?

  • @kuyapjdotcom Don't count on a HS30. Looks like Fujifilm is going in the 'X' direction and there's been leaked info on the successor to the HS20 called the X-S1. I'm sure if you do a search on it you will find it no problem.

  • WTF i recentley bought the X100 and knows there a X10

  • @camosplater

your x100 is the "big brother" to this camera
