There are no refined oils in nature just like there are no stoves, supplements and drugs in nature so why should they be in our bodies? Just simple logic.
One thing ive been thinking of is people that do injectable steroids must clearly not be thinking about their health in the long run since those are oils (+ other stuff, my english bad so cant explain) and lots of oil in the body dont sound good when the body is mostly water. What if someone eats 80/10/10 HCRV and do injectable steroids, will they get healthy or sick if sick before?

Great, it is so important to dispel the myth about the 'health benefits' of olive oil. People have to understand that it is not that olive oil is beneficial in itself, but simply that it makes us leave out items that are even worse, like butter. I'm always amazed by super athletic people, and what keeps them motivated. Diet is a big part, but there are amazing non vegan athletes, so it is more than just diet. coconut oil. i have read countless articles on the health benefits of MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids). for example, if taken on an empty stomach the oil goes staight to the cells to be used as energy (short version) it's also good for thyroid and for aids patients ect...it also does not go rancid such as other oils. and it's great for your skin as a topical...yeah, i think saying all oil is bad is an extreme way of thinking.

If you didn't get enough Carbs (ie. fruit), then health problems occur, and the same goes for eating less than 2-6 % of your calories from leafy greens and similar vegetables.

I started doing ashtanga yoga again just at home once or more a week. Fixed! No more chrio appointments. Sure, my chiro would say I still need the benefit of adjustments but if I'm not in discomfort, I figure I can take the chance. I also prefer prevention over cure.

I like oil for my situation - very little oil. Just sprinkled on salad. This is because I have bad joints.
That being said, I subscribed here because I have a bodybuilders physic that doesn't really do anything for me athletically. After being schooled by a vegan friend...I am taking this advice rather seriously.
The point is, it is a fractured food. 100% fat. This is not something you would find in nature, so it isn't meant for consumption period. Lest you wish feel the adverse effects.

I think the key is not if it's natural but if you eat way more than your body could deal with all at once. People have to understand that it is not that olive oil is beneficial in itself, but simply that it makes us leave out items that are even worse, like butter. coconut oil. i have read countless articles on the health benefits of MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids). for example, if taken on an empty stomach the oil goes staight to the cells to be used as energy (short version) it's also good for thyroid and for aids patients ect...it also does not go rancid such as other oils. and it's great for your skin as a topical...yeah, i think saying all oil is bad is an extreme way of thinking.

@AlbertaBeefy When they went back and analysed the statistics on the "Mediterranean Diet" in which they proved that a high intake of olive oil had no coronary benefits, in fact those who consumed more olive oil had higher rates of Coronary disease. A study by AJCN proves that olive oil proves NIL coronaryprotective capacities. Like all animal fats and refined oils, it increases ones risk of CVD and damages the arteries of ones heart.

@AlbertaBeefy what those studies really show is a dietary choice thats 'less bad'. im not saying don't use it, especially cold pressed oil. eating it, without cooking it. however be aware of the reality of the choice's your making. :)

Corn oils are refined. Cottonseed oil is refined.
But there are many things you can "press" to get oil. That people can't figure that out is rather amazing.

@CreateYourWorld1111 I used a Gonstead Chiropractor for my back problems for last 7 years or so but I wanted to be in such health I didn't need him. I started doing ashtanga yoga again just at home once or more a week. Fixed! No more chrio appointments. Sure, my chiro would say I still need the benefit of adjustments but if I'm not in discomfort, I figure I can take the chance. I also prefer prevention over cure.

@82Bdog - Depends how much? smoking weed can clear out your lungs once in two months or so... smoking organic produce is said to not be that harmful once in a while and if for some reason you seem to get stressed to hell... smoking might be more safer for your health than not... as for drinking a glass of red wine every day that is said to be good for you it has high antioxidants. But really it depends on your body. Personally I would not say smoking was good over all. Drinking depends on volume

I like oil for my situation - very little oil. Just sprinkled on salad. This is because I have bad joints.
That being said, I subscribed here because I have a bodybuilders physic that doesn't really do anything for me athletically. After being schooled by a vegan friend...I am taking this advice rather seriously.

The point is, it is a fractured food. 100% fat. This is not something you would find in nature, so it isn't meant for consumption period. Lest you wish feel the adverse effects.

@ccordell1111 - living in a house is not how where suppose to live... using clothes and shoes is not natural... eating snake venom would be classed as organic natural... or poison oak... I think the key is not if it's natural but if you eat way more than your body could deal with all at once. IE: supplements should be avoided because you could not naturally get that much all at once... oil depends if you drink it all at once or spread it out and have a bit at a time like on a salad. In my view.

@123gwf *facepalm* to that comment... oil = refined fat. 100% fat. So no it's not good, neither is it natural to eat anything refined. Some people say fruit juice is bad because it has little to no fiber which is said to be important to keep the sugar from being absorbed too fast. Why would oil be any better? It's basically the fatty juice from the plant. Besides, oil is clogging and sticky and tastes and feels repulsive on it's own. Use your common sense and your taste buds to guide you.

And there's a huge difference between fruit juice and olive oil. They're completely different things. Fruit juice increases blood sugar levels, olive oil doesn't.
There's proof of the health benefits of olive oil.
You want people to use "common sense" but don't use any in your argument? Also, should this "common sense" ignore science? That doesn't make any sense...

@LCHFinCanada olives are whole foods. if you take everything away and leave the fat, refine everything away so that only the fat remains, you are left with olive oil. olive oil is refined olive. refined food.
if you want to eat lots of fat, which i think is a bad idea in any case, it would be healthier to eat the whole olive or whole avocado as then you get the vitamins and minerals and fibre, water etc.

Olive oil might not increase blood SUGAR levels but that doesn't mean it's healthy... lol if you barely eat any carbohydrates with simple sugars and eat refined oil then it probably isn't going to raise the blood sugar levels but it will still do it's arterie damage.
