The whole point of the Bemani series WAS THE CONTROLLERS. It's like playing Guitar Freaks with no guitar -- LAME! How hard would it have been to make a wireless Pop'N controller? This is stupid.

Do you know how hard it would've been to convince a retailer to carry yet another oversized game with large controllers? They already have to make room for Band Hero, Beatles Rock Band, Guitar Hero 5, DJ Hero, Ride, Wii Fit Plus... and that's all just the last few months. Throw a niche game like Pop'n on that list and what do you think would sell the fewest?

Don't get me wrong, I love Pop'n. But it wouldn't be cheap, and an expensive Pop'n controller would've failed hard in the US market.

Don't ruin the Pop'N series reputation before it even had a chance in the US. That terrible Xbox Live release of Beat'N Groovy was bad enough, then this comes along. Do you think that if they released a proper Pop'N in the US now that people would even give it a 'third' shot?

In no way could they have ever released Pop N' with the controllers. If Beatmania US didn't sell well, what makes you think a full priced version of this would? This was probably the most practical route they could've took with this and to be honest with you it's not nearly the bad game everyone seems to be making it out to be.

ok beatmania US was bad but in all honesty there are millions of beatmania players in the US playing the imports and arcade version. the only mistake done is konami's bad advertising, and bad attempt of westernizing the game. but trust me if beatmania had been done right in the US itll sell well like how ddr was.

popn controllers costs 50 to 60 for the standard. compared to the rockband, dj hero, and guitar hero sets which costs close to hundreds.

1) game plays you;

2) music plays you;

3) you play the game;

4) you play the music.

The normal pop'n music already has a mode with 5 buttons and it's very easy. I guess I saw a screenshot of pop'n Wii with 9 "buttons" too and I guess it's a pain.
