Hi - just picked one of these up today at a car boot. First time I've played vinyl for many years, and it brings back many happy memories! Do you know the age of this stereo? I have the same stylus as you.
I've heard worse. I had a cheap little Dorchester record player which had no bass at all when playing records, probably due to the lack of RIAA de-emphasis. Its radio tuner sounded fine, but the turntable was extremely tinny. I made a few videos of it a while ago.

l have an art deco thingum like that,the CD
radio and cassette sound good,but the turntable?Crap!
l seem to recall that little Dorchester of yours...
