I would like to say: New nickelback is amazing, fun, party filled, songs. Powerful ballads, Powerful heavy hitters. But this album, and all the other ones...Had more depth, more soul, more meaning. I'm so used to nickelbacks sex and drugs. I'd love it if they would go back, to depth, soul, meaning etc. This is nickelback. The other stuff is ok, the more I play the old stuff: The more I realized nickelback was great, but is going downhill. They are always gonna be amazing, but never like this.

Sigh. Audible sigh. Chad used to write lyrics that weren't about getting shit-faced and partying. The songs off this album had DEPTH. Frustrates me that when I tell people that I loved Nickelback in high school this was the band that I was referring to, not the pop-centric radio darlings that they've become. Listen to this song and then Bottoms Up immediately after. You'll burst into flames.

I like the old and new nickelback. For me this is what happen to the band. First their first album curb was released. The first single did not did great but selling 10 thousand copies in Canada help them out so they recorded their new album the state. The State was a great success with two top ten hits singles. But then nickelback wanted bigger success so then silver side up was born with a huge success. Nickelback is awesome and will always be.

Though it is kind of sad that they have to please many, and stop playing what they want..But hey at least we still have NICKELBACK. I just wish some day they will be able to do more hardcore stuff, it suits me them more. I love all of nickelback as I said, BUT the: Let's party all night, drink our brains out, and the screw everyone in sight songs of their's now aren't that great. But Nickelback still rocks!

Nickelback in my eyes is the best band ever, and I love the old and new stuff. But this is what I think most likely happened: They released a few hardcore albums like: Curb, and The State. None of them ever going very far, So they tried playing around with more, radio friendly stuff, and therefore Silver Side Up was born. Following that HUGE success, Nickelback could be a band and not fear of break up, by playing what The Masses want, and going softer more peaceful lyrics. I'd rather have this.
