Poor Russian soldiers were used by Stalin to enslave a large part of Europe. This is very sad. Poland was victim of World War II twice - Stalin enslaved Poland for 45 years and killed those who could have fought for its freedom. He still keeps so many of Russian minds enslaved by his propaganda and lies. His portraits will be in full display and cherished on 9th May 2010.
@Bemique It is absslutely not true! It is a western propaganda. Stalin never gave orders to kill the polish people. These documentes were fabricated by the corrupted by the polish government russian legislaters. Look at Katyn Мухин Катыньский детектив and his book too. USSR saved the lifes of the polish people and died themselve.
@physikerin76 Go fuck yourself. Soviets and Russians alike accepted responsibility and called Katyn a crime. They are now in the process of giving up all archives and even close to apologizing as genocide.
@wesbes ou are bastard! Go and fuck yourself !You have no idea about the crime in Katyn'. Do not Read wetsern and american propaganda books (of MUKHIN ) but objective information! Putin did not excuse abou Katyn'. There was no legitimate procedure either in Russia or Europe which was supporting this crime - All was set up by NATSI and suported by wetsern propaganda !!
The Polish officers were killed by Goebbels in 1943 for anti-Russian propaganda. They were killed by German pistols, their hands were bound by German string and their dead bodies were in earth not longer than 1 year. And all forged documents supplied by the traitors Gorbachev and Yeltsin to the Polish government were fabricated for Polish money. And now the sly Poland tries to make money (4 billions USD) on that tragedy, its own tragedy. It is vile!
@SergeiPilipenko - The Soviets had German pistols because they were allies with Hitler. You will soon learn the truth from your own political leaders who have been hiding it for 70 years. They admit the truth only when they are abroad not at home.
Medvedev: "The Katyn tragedy obviously had happened while we were the leaders at that time, including Stalin"
The Poles in Russia were not prisoners of war. The Poles born in the returned West Russian territories were let go home. They Poles from territories occupied by Germans were interned. Russia armed, equipped and supplied the interned Poles for fighting. They also could work for money in Russia. But the most of them wanted neither to work nor to fight. They preferred to be a burden to Russian people which fought against Germans. Then Anders Army decided to go to Iran. So what is a problem?
Sergei, what are you talking about? You don't know history. Poland was under Russian (and two other cuntries' ) occupation from 1772 until 1918. Then the Versaille Treaty put Poland back on the map of Europe. Less than 2 years later Poland was invaded by the Soviet troops. The Soviet Russia did not respect international treaties by entering the Polish territory both in 1920 and 1939.
@Bemique100 You do not know the history of your Poland. The West Russian territories and Russian people had been occupied by Poland since 1613 till 1772.
@SergeiPilipenko Ukrainians especially Western ones do not see themselves as Russians. They are their own people but they have Polish influences. Belarussians were under Lithuanian and Polish influences for awhile too.
The first hundred so-named «ukrainians» were fabricated by Polish and Austrian special services before the First World War. Then the international communists continued «making ukrainians» from Russians, but unsuccessfully.
Please influence yourself and be influenced by yourself. The Russians do not need your influences.
The Polish officers and soldiers were kept in Soviet labour camps and prisons against their will and in horrible conditions: they suffered cold, hunger and diseases. They were not allowed to go back home to get reunited with their families. Following the Sikorski-Majski agreement of 1941, they were allowed to form an army and left Russia.

@Bemique100 In 1920 Russia unsuccessfully tried to return its territories occupied and annexed by Poland in 1918.
In 1939 Russia successfully returned its territories and Russian people occupied and annexed by Poland in 1918. There was no war between Poland und Russia in 1939. Poland had already been conquered by its friend in aggression against Czechoslovakia in 1938, by Germany.
4. In 1938 the Chamberlain-Daladier-Mussolini-Hitler Pact was concluded.
5. In 1938 Germany and Poland occupied and annexed territories of Czech Republic.
6. In 1939 the Moscow Russian-German peace treaty was concluded.
7. In 1939 Germany attacked Poland. The Polish government and generals run away cowardly and betrayed the Polish army and Polish people. Poland disappeared.
1. In 1918 Russia was in flame of anti-Russian revolution. Poland occupied and annexed western Russian territories that were larger than Poland itself!
2. Poland did not need a treaty with Russia against Germany, and intended to take part in aggression with Germany against Russia.
3. In 1938 Poland did not permit the Russian army to pass the Polish territory in order to defend the Czech Republic against Germany.
And you know, Stalin was a Georgian, who killed millions of people in Russia, Ukraine with his artificial hunger Golodomor and another millions of people with repressions; and Russians suffered from his crimes more then anybody else.
Because any degrading generalizations about any nation and any people are incorrect and just poison relationships between countries, which could be used by some provocateurs
to drag these countries into the wars with each other.
Now, what kind of subject is blaming Russia for the crimes of this people?
- just look on the number of the Russian and Ukrainian people killed by Dzerzhinsky and Stalin. May be we first should demand apology from Poland and Georgia for their crimes?

Dzerzhinski, Stalins henchmen, was a talented Polish man - organizer
who created NKVD - instrument of Stalins terror, which tortured and killed
tens of millions people in Russia and Ukraine with repressions
But we dont blame Polish people for it.

Dzerzhinsky was born into a bourgeois Polish family in a town of Koidanow (now Dzyarzhynsk), then part of the Russian Empire, now part of Belarus.
