The reason why the object appears at a different location on the images from the other STEREO satelite, is simply because the satelites themselves are at different positions. One is leading in earth's orbit and the other is trailing.

Further more, it's not possible to get a 3D refference from these images. So an object appearing to be on the outside from Mercury, could very well appear to be on the inside from a different angle.
