  • Hey Mojo, I just began watching & you are an inspiration. I always wanted to learn the finger picking patern for Bob Dylan's "Don't think twice". Is it possible that there will be a video in the future? It would sure make my days on this earth more enjoyable just to learn that song. Keep up the great work. Thanks again,

  • is the first part of the riff jsut a d chord slid down to the 3rd fret

  • You are a amazeing teacher thanks, I have learned so many of your licks and its brought my phraseing to a diferent level thank you Rickey

  • i really appreciate your time on these lessons champ good stuff thx =]

    teles rock

  • Mojo isn't your johnny Cash finger on the G instead of the D string? or are you in standard tune? when you showed your guitar up close it looked like you were playing a D7 chord but starting on the 3rd fret...maybe I'm mistaken exxxxxxcuuuuuuusee meee if I'm wrong...lol

  • Yea you're right, but its alright I think you can guess, because when he shows you how to finger pick he says G string.

Great lesson Mojo! Love that telecaster as well, real hot!

  • Hey Mojo.. Great stuff. Thanks for the videos, I love them. There was a comment earlier about you possibly saying "D" when in fact you are playing and meant the "G" string with the Johny Cash digit. The "G" of course sounds right and your video shows "G". Just checking and clarifying. Thanks again.

  • dude nice work , draw a tab for the positoins pl, so even dumb ass like me can understand

  • Oreodontist, your from Maritimes, Cool, MOJO where you from Bro ? I am from Debert Nova Scotia, AKA Yes we have French Acadian here :) Love your teachings, love to see some HD DVD done sometime so I can play them on my TV and practice. Just a thought. I be willing to Pay :) Anyone else ?? Thoughts

  • a total guitar noob, you only play with the index and your fourth finger is horrible. how do you dare to teach

  • You amuse me. Thank you for the comedic relief.

  • how the hell can you say that eurabio?

  • Ha! I was reading the comentss and there's some discussion about the a hint of accent. I don't hear it so I asked my wife and she said Mojo and I both have similar accents...I'm Acadian originally from the Canadian maritimes (Nouvelle Ecosse).

  • Hi oreodontist, great screen name.

From a Utahn's perspective, I hear the accent really strong on the (oo, ou, sh, s and d sounds) It's a fun accent to listen to, unlike some of the nails on chalkboard accents of well... other places.

  • Kick Ass!

  • dude u are so good at this

  • Thx ;D

  • killer tone!

  • I've discovered some though for us pick users.....

If you want to use a pick, hold the pick in your thumb and index finger, and play the top note, while using your middle finger and ring finger to play the higher strings

  • i love fingerpicking

  • how do you play its my life by Bon Jovi

  • very good man

  • Hey Mojo thank you so much , that really helps out alot. Now I just have to practice more. I'm into blues and R&B, you know any R&B thats three chords?

  • Awesome lesson, you messed up the string names a bit tho. Ah well every sane person will get your point I hope ;)

  • I really like the way you slow things down and care about your viewers.

    Thanks Man.

  • My pleasure! If I can help, it makes mt day. It's a very simple dynamic, really :)

  • haha really reminds me of the unplugged album!

    i was wondering...

could you please teach me (and i know a lot of other ppl) how to play solo's on E?

Me and a friend play the blues a lot but we only use the 2 E Minor scales (low one that starts on low E open and the high one that starts on E on the 12th fret).

but when you play, you play a lot more different notes.

the thing is: could you please show us in a vid which scales fit with a nice E Blues Riff?

    Greetz from Holland!

  • you are my future teacher! and my ex teache you are the man than you

    I LVE BLUES!!

master of the blues it is you thank u

  • sweet and easy, sounds brill!

  • Great, glad you like it! :)

  • Do you use the bluegrass picking method?

  • I don't think that I do, no...

  • Excellent lessons, even for people who have been playing for a while. 5 stars.

  • Thanks for the kind words :)

  • Hi ya Mojo,

Just got my first electric and stumbled upon your excellent lessons, thank you so much! After struggling to get the right sound with your "finger picking blues intro in E", I found that you say to use J.C. finger on D, 4th fret. You however use G, 4th fret. I found this by pausing the video Countless times and looking at your fingers close up. I aspire to play as smoothly as you do so keep giving us material! Marko in CT

  • I'll have to look at it again... thanks for the comment and for watching the videos :)

  • hi can u do tbas for this? its hard to see exactly where ur fingers are.

  • I'll try if I get enough time :)

  • i love all of your lessons. i was wondering when you are going to play roll blackwater its my fave. you rock

  • Thanks. I must admit that I do not know this song... I will research it. Thanks for watching!

  • What part of Louisiana are you from?

  • I am from France... though some of my relatives ended up in Louisiana :)

  • My mothers side of family is Cajun and my cousins all have almost same accent as you is why I ask. I enjoy your lessons as I am a harmonica player that is trying to learn to be a better guitar player. Thanks and keep it up.

  • Great food them Cajuns know how to cook! :)

  • excellent lesson. Do you know of a site that teaches bass licks?

    The Stray Dog

  • Nope, though I wish I did... I am a terrible bass player!

  • I stumbled onto these. Took some of their advice and tips. And now I only play HALF as lousy. Getting better, but Still ain't ready for Nashvile yet. KEEP IT UP.

  • Thanks, I believe I will :)

  • Thanks Man,(di u say D early on when you meant G? nyway all great stuff)

    Ta

    Banjo

  • Thank you so much for your videos! I just stumbled onto your stuff and I love it! I need all the instruction I can get:) I appreciate what you're doing on youtube:) Be blessed!

  • loved this video I leaarned this and most of what im playing is from your videos... but this one is great but can i just ask whatis this a song of anybody or you made it??... but its really good :D

  • Can't remember, but I can't imagine I came up with it :)

  • Love the riff. But am not sure what B M P means at the second half of the riff.

  • Mojo, my mate Barry introduced me to your lessons, and I've just completed this one and can't wait to get into more.

    Bruce from Brisbane, Oz

  • Brisbane, huh? My, this is great... I could never teach in Brisbane, but now via the Internet, I can... gotta love that! Thanks for watching the video, and my thanks to your friend for recommending me :)

  • Awesome riff. I learned it, and decided to change it around a litte to make it...not "better", but different. Just to add a little of my own sound to it. So, Thanks! Your vids are helping me out a lot!

  • Whoops...double post. Sorry.

  • not a problem :)

  • Hey 3C, thanks so much! It's nice to see it broken out so well. I can't seem to catch on to reading tab so this is great. Keep em comin man!

  • You're welcome! Glad to be of assistance. And I am with you... tabs don't always do it for me either :)

  • Thanks again! Sweet riff, I learned it and then changed it around a bit so I could, personally, make it sound...not "better", just different. Gave a bit of my own sound to it. Anyway, just wanted to say that your vids are a big help!

  • Great job! It's always better to make it your own :)

  • hi ive been looking at your videos and learning them i think there all great riffs! had a look at the web site as well which is helpfull! do you have the tabs too the songs that you have posted? thanks

  • Thanks for the kind words. No I don't have tabs at this stage, since I usually explain just about finger by finger what I am doing, but I may have to get there at some point. The site is only a week old, so there's much much more in store that I haven't had a chance to get to yet! :)

Thanks for watching the vids and visiting the site. I appreciate it!

  • Hey Mojo that's just great

It took me about 2 hours to get it but now I'm unto it

    Barry from Brisbane Australia

  • I am glad I could be of assistance! Keep on practicing and having fun :)
