I live in New York, and I know of absolutely no racially integrated churches such as the one depicted here. This is not to say that they practice segregation. However, since neighborhoods tend to be segregated by either choice or economic reality, people simply gravitate toward their own parishes by natural means. I am afraid the show attempts to promote something that is not real.

There have been so many television series about the struggles and hardships of African-American families, and it was finally about time that there was a show about a successful black family. The point was to not focus on the past, but to look into the future, learn from the past what you can but keep moving forward. This show was meant to inspire those families that with a little hard work and determination, this is where you could be.

They didn't have to announce their faith. They showed their unity among other things throughout the series. That's just my opinion. Sorry some feel that they needed to have religion in the show to be spelled out. I thought it was self explanatory.

@Sexy48f yes it is true what you do glorifys God but i chose a poor choice of words there. What I meant to say is a fundamental Baptist church that still uses the KJV not the NIV or the NKJV the KJV! If you are in a church that serves God and gives Him the Glory INSTEAD of trying to please people or try to look good for friends and family! Does that help?
