i think it is more probable that genetically engineered japs from the future crashed at Roswell. their gray bodies are due to genetically engineering their bodies so they don't need blood to cope with G-FORCE and have probably replaced bone with something else. time travel is never going to be an exact science and this would explain the two year over shoot and earlier sightings before Roswell.the Americans have the tech now and most recent sightings are from them.

If it were really aliens they might come from Alpha Centauri, it's 'only' a few lightyears away, but I really doubt it. There was a satellite launched in 1977 with a golden disk that contained sounds of animals on Earth, languages spoken on Earth, etc. There is also a diagram indicating where Earth is located. The disk was accompanied by a manual showing how to unlock the information. The purpose of this disk was to contact other life forms and I would not be surprised if some life form already unlocked the information.
