I never expected the US to get very far any way and seriously the refs during some of these games were awful but anyway i really wish there was some sort of review system. it doesn't have to be all the time because that would ruin the game but if they gave the coaches a certain number of challenge flags maybe 2 or 3 like in american football then it would be better.
Also, fix the title....if the player was offside, the refferee would have put his hand straight up in the air, not pointed for a free kick for Slovenia, you just confuse more people with this title
The foul is at the top of the screen at about 0:16 seconds...player at the top of the box clearly pushes the slovenian player in order to get some space
As for the clutching and grabbing in the 18-yard box, thats just part of soccer, the Americans would be doing the same if it was a slovenian free kick.

Yes the refs in the US matches were horrible. And some of us (Dallas / Fort Worth American Outlaws) suspect Algeria of being in on the fix, because they didn't play to win in the following game (they would have advanced if they did).
Even though some people make mistakes, there was an error by linesman not to call for the ref. It could have easily been fixed if he would have called the center man and told him the goal should stand. To me U.S.A. #4 was in the offside position, but # 19 was the one who scored the goal. Personally i think the Jar that called the offside jumped the gun thinking #4 was going to recieve the ball. But in any case, we are all humans and we all make mistakes. So before anyone judges these men, put yourselves in their shoes. You would need many years of experience, upgrading, taking tests, and being assesed by other officials many times just to get to the MLS level and this level takes more exp.
Its no offside. When edu received the ball from the corner I counted the goalkeeper and 1 defender as being in front of him. When he kicked the ball into the goal I counted the goalkeeper as being in front of him and 2 defenders as being level with him which, tell me if I'm wrong, which would make any offside call BULLSHIT.As for the Americans fouling in the box, I did not see one. I did, however, see the Slovenians HUGGING the Americans to try to prevent them from getting to the ball.

Despite lacking real first class quality, the USA played a very enjoyable football. There spirit and persistance is amazing. A complete and utter joke of a decision. No-one is offside and the only players being fouled are US players. I feel gutted for Mo Edu but at least you still finished top of the group though.
Unless someone knows a person the read the refs review of his calls, no one outside of FIFA knows what the call on the field was. It was never told what the call was, whether it be an offside, foul, or something else. The assistant ref never raised his flag for an offside, so I don't see how that even comes into play though. This ref also gave a USA player a yellow card for an intentional hand ball when the player didn't even touch the ball with his hand. The ball hit his face.
I was at the game in line with the 18 yard box on the linesmans side & the linesman did not, repeat, DID NOT flag for offside. The referee would not have called an offside foul, that's not his call. Although it's not unheard of it's extremely unlikely he blew a foul for offside. More likely he thinks he has seen a foul in the box by an American. Note I say 'thinks' because there's no foul there only a perfectly good goal. I'm Australian and I'm here to say the US were clearly gypped here.
@munrubenmario I was there too. I had already known how blind these refs were before Edu's goal. There was the yellow to Findley because the ball hit him in the face, then the yellow to the last Slovenian defender who dragged down Altidore and was given the minimal punishment of a yellow, So I, just like you, instantly looked at the linesmen as soon as Edu's shot hit the back of the net, and sure enough, no flag was raised. This goal disallowed was from a phantom foul. USA 3, Slovenia 2. Final.
The referee is the main man at the game. He decides what is what, on many occasions a ref overrules his linesmen. So if the Linesman says not but the ref says yes, then it is yes.
if you look the moment (less then a second) after the vid pauses the US player closest to the camera is past the slovenian player, so put yourself in the refs shoes your watching the kick he kicks it you look over and us player is offside you have no instant replay and you are expected to make a decison instantly and this is a game changer I would have made the same call due to the fact that it appeared offside and because it keeps the score even (you dont want to award a bad goal in a tie)
@iamalwaysright0 Before Bradley was offside there was fouls committed by the Slovenian team, just look at the holding and hugging. There were infractions against the US team even before Bradley became offside, why didn't the ref call those obvious penalties?.

It was a goal, but this is is one of the things that happen in this great sport. I'm sorry for you USA, soccer matches are not always fair. With what you say about "acting", if you really hate that, stick to what you think is right, and once you start kicking asses your way, You'll enjoy victory twice as much. Still, this is not a "fair" sport, the rules are fair, but "cheating" takes place here too.

Didn't really lift arm straight out for a direct either, just a half-assed 45 degreee angle, cause he's making it up. Can't see if AR raised flag for offside either. Bradley not involved or interfering in play, so can't be offside on him anyway.

To me U.S.A. #4 was in the offside position, but # 19 was the one who scored the goal. Personally i think the Jar that called the offside jumped the gun thinking #4 was going to recieve the ball. But in any case, we are all humans and we all make mistakes. So before anyone judges these men, put yourselves in their shoes. You would need many years of experience, upgrading, taking tests, and being assesed by other officials many times just to get to the MLS level and this level takes more exp.

Its no offside. When edu received the ball from the corner I counted the goalkeeper and 1 defender as being in front of him. When he kicked the ball into the goal I counted the goalkeeper as being in front of him and 2 defenders as being level with him which, tell me if I'm wrong, which would make any offside call BULLSHIT.As for the Americans fouling in the box, I did not see one. I did, however, see the Slovenians HUGGING the Americans to try to prevent them from getting to the ball.

Despite lacking real first class quality, the USA played a very enjoyable football. There spirit and persistance is amazing. As for the ref decision, all what I can say the ref robbed the US a clear goal and 4 penalties in one go which will go down as one of the worst ever decisions in world cup history.

Unless someone knows a person the read the refs review of his calls, no one outside of FIFA knows what the call on the field was. It was never told what the call was, whether it be an offside, foul, or something else. The assistant ref never raised his flag for an offside, so I don't see how that even comes into play though. This ref also gave a USA player a yellow card for an intentional hand ball when the player didn't even touch the ball with his hand. The ball hit his face.

I was at the game in line with the 18 yard box on the linesmans side & the linesman did not, repeat, DID NOT flag for offside. The referee would not have called an offside foul, that's not his call. Although it's not unheard of it's extremely unlikely he blew a foul for offside. More likely he thinks he has seen a foul in the box by an American. Note I say 'thinks' because there's no foul there only a perfectly good goal. I'm Australian and I'm here to say the US were clearly gypped here.

There was the yellow to Findley because the ball hit him in the face, then the yellow to the last Slovenian defender who dragged down Altidore and was given the minimal punishment of a yellow, So I, just like you, instantly looked at the linesmen as soon as Edu's shot hit the back of the net, and sure enough, no flag was raised. This goal disallowed was from a phantom foul. USA 3, Slovenia 2. Final.

The referee is the main man at the game. He decides what is what, on many occasions a ref overrules his linesmen. So if the Linesman says not but the ref says yes, then it is yes.

if you look the moment (less then a second) after the vid pauses the US player closest to the camera is past the slovenian player, so put yourself in the refs shoes your watching the kick he kicks it you look over and us player is offside you have no instant replay and you are expected to make a decison instantly and this is a game changer I would have made the same call due to the fact that it appeared offside and because it keeps the score even (you dont want to award a bad goal in a tie)

It was a goal, but this is is one of the things that happen in this great sport. I'm sorry for you USA, soccer matches are not always fair. With what you say about "acting", if you really hate that, stick to what you think is right, and once you start kicking asses your way, You'll enjoy victory twice as much. Still, this is not a "fair" sport, the rules are fair, but "cheating" takes place here too.

Freeze frame at 00:19. The ball isn't in play yet and Bradley is slightly ahead of his defender. If Bradley had deflected the ball in the goal or towards another player, it wouldn't be an offsides, but he didn't. Edu did.
Like I said, it was very close and could have gone either way.

Didn't really lift arm straight out for a direct either, just a half-assed 45 degreee angle, cause he's making it up. Can't see if AR raised flag for offside either. Bradley not involved or interfering in play, so can't be offside on him anyway.
