WoW. Outstanding! What a superb creature she is. I was just reading up on them. This one seems to be a female. Apparently females never leave the larval stage apparently, and are significantly bigger than the fully developed males. Mother nature does it again! :¬)
Thanks for posting this fascinating video. I've never seen a firefly at its larval stage in real life. Did you find this specimen in the wild or was it being bred in captivity?
i woke up in the middle of the night with on of those on my eye it woke me up cuz the glow and i got so scared i flipped and it flew it crawled around my house for days until we found it ughh

How come the Nymph or Larva (Baby) Has more of a flexible and Scaly body, but the full grown has a solid, compact body? Just a stage of growth?

I don't know, I'd say your mom was pretty flexible last night.

The larva undergoes complete metamorphosis, like a caterpillar turning to a butterfly. The adult is solid and compact because of the hard wing-cases.

If I had a light bulb on my ass I'd be disappointed unless I could see from it and could walk backwards. Great footy, though!
