That about how many enemies Dante's Inferno has. Whitey didn't count all the enemies. There are about 13 different ones I can think of right now. Alos the same enemies would show up randomly in GoW too. So what's the big deal? True this isn't better than GoW but it's still a really good game and a lot of fun.

I actually thought the story was pretty good since it was based on poem. The game play is awesome if you balance out both sides of the tree because the holy path give you new moves and magic that goes well w/ unholy combos. There is more than 7 enemies: Heretics, minotaurs, beast riders, flying bats, babies, hermaphrodite women, spinners, grunts, gluttons. GOW repeated enemies also. Also if you used relics you could have done that arena easy b/c their is a relic that extends combo time.
I loved the book. When I heard they were making a game I thought "Badass!" I played the demo, thought it was pretty cool. I finally beat the game. Sorry Whitey. I love your reviews and you are the man.. but on this one I disagree with you on almost everything you said. The graphics were good (i thought the fire looked really good), the game play was fun, puzzles & platforming were awesome the voice acting didn't suck to me, the music great. I'm playing through it again now on Hellish mode :) It could have been longer but it's very fun to me and I look forward to pt 2, but I respect your opinion bro. Keep it up.

Agreed. GOW was not the first of its kind to come out and it certainly wasn't the last. People need to get off the GOW nutsack, sucking it dry and keep an open mind to new franchises and titles. Any reviewer that even compares this genre of games to GOW I immediately dismiss because they don't try to analyze a game based on its own merits.
No god of war wasn't the first. However do you know why God of War isn't called a Devil may Cry clone despite it coming it coming after it with similar action gameplay? Cause it doesn't try the same exact thing.
Taking the EXACT controls, the bosses using same moves as bosses in gow, and then just add a shitty story, bad platforming, and crappy puzzles, but is there to look forward to it?

If something works or appeals to the masses wouldn't you try to mimic the formula? It's been like that for every game that sells very well. The only thing that can be done to keep games from being repetitive is to demand and use the power that all consumers have and purchase only those games who's developers give an effort.
Even doing so it still contains far to many problems. It's obvious EA wanted to compete with God of War directly, as they try to go with the same type of feeling.
So even if I don't compare, which is almost impossible, the game contains to many problems which I addressed.
Yes, the game has it's problems. Bugs, glitches, etc. which is why I respect your opinion. Hopefully other franchises will avoid them and take the genre to a whole new level.

i read that since they where getting backlashed by public half way thourgh development EA decided to dry up the funds and abandon the project, but since EA saw the project and they decide to restore some of the funds to finish it . All they did was to get there money back for the investment

I think he nailed every single part of Dante's Inferno, sorry to say. This game was an epic failure among modern games. =/ I paid 127 dollars for it, pre-order, then after a tiny adventure with little to no challenge, I found myself returning it the very next day to EB games.

I hesitated and rented this. Then after playing it for a while I liked it so I bought it. I'm happy with it for my likes but it could be better in some areas. The puzzles didn't bother me that much at all. I liked them. This game is challenging for me. I mostly like it for the atmosphere. I would give it an 8/10 but that's me. I wouldn't compare this to GoW though because there is no way it will be better and I don't think they were trying to make it better than GoW. Awesome review Whitey!

I think this game came out at the wrong time. I mean, how can you give this a poor review and give Ninja Blade a good one? Both games are shitty. Ninja Blade hade terrible platforming, about 4 to five different types of enemies, piss poor story, and ripped off a hell of allot more games than Dantes Inferno.
Easy I never found Ninja blade platforming bad. It's finishers on bosses shit all over the 3 you do in this game. Story was over the top but far more entertaining. Telling me you didn't love the whole father vs you fight scene?
And both took from more games but ninja blade was fun, dante's was good for a hour and a half of it's 5 hour adventure.
Well Ill give you the benefit of the doubt, due to the fact that Ive only played the demo of Dantes Inferno. But as an action fan, I still cant stand Ninja Blade. Ripping off Ryu with his triple dash attack and other obvious traits, 3 weapon system like Heavenly Sword, riding a rocket like in DMC3, GOW style button sequence, blades on feet like Raiden. Just playing the game pissed me off. At least Darksiders seemed somewhat fresh using old concepts.

I got the game and its great. You should give it a rent at least because its exactly like God Of War (same button layout, same level designer, etc.) but just placed in another setting (european crusades / hell vs ancient greece / greek mythology).
I cant believe how wrong every review on this game is. Every complaint about this game has been ignored on Gow1&2 and will be ignored on Gow3. The Lead Level Designer, Mike Cheng, is also the level designer for the Gow series. All button mashing combos can be stopped by blocking. Combat feels exactly like GoW, you just miss Kratos. U say the puzzle are easy yet ur video shows u struggling on the easiest 1. GoW is full of puzzles and platforms like Pandoras temple. The game is 6hrs on ur 2nd play
The difference is some of the puzzles in GOW are really good and the platforming is pretty good. Eg. swinging across a breaking bridge with your extendable blades? Badass.
Ok will fortunately, i dont like to rush through my games like made and i played no normal at a regular pace. It lasted about 6-8 hours for me. Its pretty long for a hack and slash game.
well i agree, but still,,, i dident rush and i beat gow in about 5 and a half, getting all the feathers and stuff aswell... i think gow3 will be like 15h if they keep up the pattern.
Combat is fun though the combo break is just weak.
Doesn't have teh epic feeling of taking down things except for 1-2 bosses where god of war had many.
Puzzles suck ass in this, they do not in god of war. The challenge is due to cheap enemies over challenging ones. The game is 5 hours long. I beat it in 5:43

I have Bayonetta and it is so fucking shitty. Yes, the action is good as hell BUT I hate those charachters especially Bayonetta. And music sucks.

If something works or appeals to the masses wouldn't you try to mimic the formula? It's been like that for every game that sells very well. The only thing that can be done to keep games from being repetitive is to demand and use the power that all consumers have and purchase only those games who's developers give an effort.

Even doing so it still contains far to many problems. It's obvious EA wanted to compete with God of War directly, as they try to go with the same type of feeling.
So even if I don't compare, which is almost impossible, the game contains to many problems which I addressed.

Yes, the game has it's problems. Bugs, glitches, etc. which is why I respect your opinion. Hopefully other franchises will avoid them and take the genre to a whole new level.

i read that since they where getting backlashed by public half way thourgh development EA decided to dry up the funds and abandon the project, but since EA saw the project and they decide to restore some of the funds to finish it . All they did was to get there money back for the investment

wow... hmm that may be the reason why some of the levels seemed a bit short. But to me the game was still very fun to me, but it can be frustrating.. but in a challenging way to me. Too bad Whitey didn't like it cause usually I agree with all his reviews. But hey that happens :)

I think he nailed every single part of Dante's Inferno, sorry to say. This game was an epic failure among modern games. =/ I paid 127 dollars for it, pre-order, then after a tiny adventure with little to no challenge, I found myself returning it the very next day to EB games.

I hesitated and rented this. Then after playing it for a while I liked it so I bought it. I'm happy with it for my likes but it could be better in some areas. The puzzles didn't bother me that much at all. I liked them. This game is challenging for me. I mostly like it for the atmosphere. I would give it an 8/10 but that's me. I wouldn't compare this to GoW though because there is no way it will be better and I don't think they were trying to make it better than GoW. Awesome review Whitey!

why u dont care about the characters is because almost all u meat are bosses or ppl in cutscenes that like talk 2 u before u kill em and the STORY is after the poem: the devine comedy, so the story is from the POEM ffs ... but the voice of him sucks a little but still who cares

Well as you know, this game was much more prefered in my eyes. Took me 8 hours, and had hardly any of the problems you did... but ill get to that in my review later lol. Good video as always . :D

I think this game came out at the wrong time. I mean, how can you give this a poor review and give Ninja Blade a good one? Both games are shitty. Ninja Blade hade terrible platforming, about 4 to five different types of enemies, piss poor story, and ripped off a hell of allot more games than Dantes Inferno.

Easy I never found Ninja blade platforming bad. It's finishers on bosses shit all over the 3 you do in this game. Story was over the top but far more entertaining. Telling me you didn't love the whole father vs you fight scene?
And both took from more games but ninja blade was fun, dante's was good for a hour and a half of it's 5 hour adventure.

Well Ill give you the benefit of the doubt, due to the fact that Ive only played the demo of Dantes Inferno. But as an action fan, I still cant stand Ninja Blade. Ripping off Ryu with his triple dash attack and other obvious traits, 3 weapon system like Heavenly Sword, riding a rocket like in DMC3, GOW style button sequence, blades on feet like Raiden. Just playing the game pissed me off. At least Darksiders seemed somewhat fresh using old concepts.

Lol i actually made a speedrun on this game & took like littlebit over 3 hours.
But ye this game is short.
Oh & it's bad that you can't fight death(Wich was the most badass boss in the game) again after you've completed the game,the only way to meet him again is to start a whole new game wich is a pain.
I had to choose between this game or bioshock2,& picked this wich i actually regret!

on a seperate note the story is a bit strange..a man who dosent know he's dead (apparantly) goes to save his wife who made a deal with the devil..why the frig would u want to save HER. but everything else looks good. even the platforming and simple puzzles just add icing to the cake for someone like me XD

I got the game and its great. You should give it a rent at least because its exactly like God Of War (same button layout, same level designer, etc.) but just placed in another setting (european crusades / hell vs ancient greece / greek mythology).
If you liked God Of War, you will like this one.

I cant believe how wrong every review on this game is. Every complaint about this game has been ignored on Gow1&2 and will be ignored on Gow3. The Lead Level Designer, Mike Cheng, is also the level designer for the Gow series. All button mashing combos can be stopped by blocking. Combat feels exactly like GoW, you just miss Kratos. U say the puzzle are easy yet ur video shows u struggling on the easiest 1. GoW is full of puzzles and platforms like Pandoras temple. The game is 6hrs on ur 2nd play

The difference is some of the puzzles in GOW are really good and the platforming is pretty good. Eg. swinging across a breaking bridge with your extendable blades? Badass.

Ok will fortunately, i dont like to rush through my games like made and i played no normal at a regular pace. It lasted about 6-8 hours for me. Its pretty long for a hack and slash game.

Interesting story? Nope.
Combat is fun though the combo break is just weak.
Doesn't have teh epic feeling of taking down things except for 1-2 bosses where god of war had many.
Puzzles suck ass in this, they do not in god of war. The challenge is due to cheap enemies over challenging ones. The game is 5 hours long. I beat it in 5:43
