Really useful. I ordered a pair of Levi's from the states, cause they're quite expensive here in Germany. I was wondering, why the red tag didn't say Levi's, so I looked up your video. Now I found out that these buttons on the inside are supposed to have letters on them, which they have not in my pair!

I couldn't believe that Levi's are up to a whopping $40 now, and I'm wondering where all this money's going since it's no longer made here. My latest pair is made in Haiti, and it looks like the cheapest denim they could find. From the quality standpoint, if Levi's is trying to put themselves outta business, they're on the right track.

saw some bad fakes today, it didnt have the tab where it has 501 or 514, and someone tried to blank out the LEVIS symbol on the tab, thats y i only shop at JC Pennys and BelK!

just want to share what happen here in asia - malaysia - they are selling this pair of jeans for a very cheap price which is fake instead - this fake jeans really a disastrous to the fabric industry here...so sad

Well I know from a pretty good source of information, that all the fabrics for the "Levis" are made in Mexico. I wont tell in which part of the Country, but I saw with these eyes that would be worms food when I die, that I saw rolls and rolls of dark blue fabric ready to be shipped to the "Levis" factories in Mexico, Because "Levis" are made in a lot of parts from the globe. Of course to replicate a "Levis" is impossible due that they have the right sewing machines, to do the trademark on pocket

You know Levi's is actually a german company started, by a jew, named Levi Strauss, and the proper pronunciaition is Le-wiis (as in the console :d)

Great job on the video! My husband works at Levi Strauss & Co. in Canada at their Richmond Hill, ON head office, and he has mentioned the same tips on spotting fakes. He also said that there are a lot of fakes that are produced in asia and some of them say, "Levi" instead of "Levi's" on the tab, and often there are obvious differences in the pocket detailing which are different from their original line. For example, he's seen some which have a much deeper "V".

I usually get my Levi's from legit places like Levi's Store, but I would never think people would sell fake Levi's. They are pretty low priced for good quality jeans.

Some of the Levi's made only have at the R so that does not mean they are fakes they just randomly put some without the Levi's trademark and only put an R

i have a pair of 501 stf jeans, newly bought by ordering from the internet here in japan. i am wondering if this is original because the tab at the back pocket doesn't have "levi's" printed on it. it just only have "R". i am thinking of returning it back and exchange it for a jeans with "levi's" printed on it. pls help

they put an "R" on the tab for every 100th pair of Levi's they make. They're real :)
