From a sitting on a stool playing perspective id say page. But if i was lucky enough to pick one for my band its angus by a mile. Far more exciting live technically they have very similar styles but jimmy is smoother on recordings. Angus puts more people on the bleechers by far

Live performances - Again Page. Such energetic spectacles such as the violin bowing in Dazed and Confused live are magestic and convey power. Such a performance I have yet to see from Young.
A professor prefers Young. So what? It's opinion, not fact. The facts however, are that Jimmy Page changed rock music completely, and what exactly did Young do that wasn't around before? Nothing. And a guitarist's technical accuracy is nothing, if it doesn't capture their emotion and feeling in their music, something which Page unquestionably beats Young on. Bottom line is music is about emotion and passion, not about hitting every note perfectly like a machine.
Yes they did write slow songs. But did they ever write songs which captured celtic or arabic roots? No. It's because they do not have a fraction of the talent or musical genius that Led Zeppelin possessed.

this is a bad video but Zeppelin is way better, im 14 and i can play most of AC/DCs stuff by ear and learn a whole song in 20 minutes, Zeppelins stuff takes me at least a week to learn and i half to have tabs cuz their stuff is to complicated to play by ear

You're 14... You can't really say one band is better than the other, since it is an opinion and opinion are never true or false, they are just choices made by an individual. Led Zeppelin ain't so difficult to learn by ear for I, but yes I can agree AC/DC is way easier, but that isn't a fact, because an individual could differ with us and yes I've seen some who do and they have the right of mind to have their opinion.

i never said they created it, i said they formed it, which means they helped (largely) to make rock and roll into hard rock and metal. And it's definitely not true that Zeppelin didn't master rock and roll, just listen to Stairway to Heaven, considered the greatest ROCK song of all time, Whole Lotta Love, considered the greatest guitar riff of all time... I'm not biased, I like AC/DC, but Jimmy Page and Zeppelin are far superior. And it's not just me, see the highest rated comments

And I know that he isn't the only one considered to be the best ever, and yes, people do think Moon is also a contender for the greatest ever, but what many people agree on is that Moon was more to do with style and craziness, whereas Bonham was overall a better drummer.

it was after the Yardbirds broke up that Beck saw Page play "You Shook Me". This isn't about Gilmour, Clapton or Hendrix. This is about Page and Young. And I am 100% Beck WAS reduced to tears, he described the event in the documentary "The Story of The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin." Check it out if you don't believe me.

yes they did what they liked, and that's great. And kudos to them for doing that and for not selling out. But you simply cannot compare them to Zeppelin, who formed entire genres. And I won't repeat myself, but you know what I've said about playing different genres. AC/DC are a great band. Angus Young is a great guitar player. But they simply are not in the same league as Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin.

John Bonham > The guy who hits the same drum in AC/DC
John Paul Jones > The guy who isn't even noticed or makes much of a contribution in AC/DC

Robert Plant > The singer in AC/DC who sounds like he's eaten too much chocolate or swallowed a cheese grater.

But if you want to talk about effect on other greats, Jeff Beck was reduced to tears seeing Page playing "You Shook Me", when he realised how great a performance it was. Again, it doesn't matter what he was inspired by, it matters what he performed and displayed. Yes they're a popular rock and roll band, but they don't display musical variety like Led Zeppelin did. Yes being rock and roll is fine, but just don't compare them to Zeppelin who did that (better and with more skill than AC/DC) plus much more, using many genres.

The violin bow was "pompous and sounded shit." That's your opinion, which does not matter here. And it wasn't pompous, it complemented the eerie nature of the song and was the spectacle of Zeppelin concerts, which you haven't experienced. Don't be so ignorant. You say that Page had the "look how good I am" attitude. Well he definitely did not, but look at Young strutting about in the schoolboy outfit. If anything says "look at me", that's it. He is an attention grabber. He needs it.

And by the way, a great guitar player is measured on their influence, live performances and skill.
Influence - Unquestionably Page, he made rock and hard rock into what they are today. Young did influence alot of bands, but not a genre like Page.
Live performances - Again Page. Such energetic spectacles such as the violin bowing in Dazed and Confused live are magestic and convey power. Such a performance I have yet to see from Young.

A professor prefers Young. So what? It's opinion, not fact. The facts however, are that Jimmy Page changed rock music completely, and what exactly did Young do that wasn't around before? Nothing. And a guitarist's technical accuracy is nothing, if it doesn't capture their emotion and feeling in their music, something which Page unquestionably beats Young on. Bottom line is music is about emotion and passion, not about hitting every note perfectly like a machine.

Jimmy was also a master of creating songs using exotic and various alternate tunings, which was not common at all in the hard rock genre back then. JIMMY PAGE = FRIGGIN GENIUS

Jimmy Page is an incredible musician who has changed the face of rock and roll. Angus is a good guitarist who has come up with some great riffs, but just hasn't done what Jimmy has done for Rock/Metal.
