  • This is very different from the Alarippu presented in Sudharani's Raghupathi's video on DancingIndia. net

  • Nice strong positioning. You can do a sharp and fast alarippu, but to always do such a dance the same way defeats the art of dance. I enjoy the grace in her movement, tempered by her underlying strength. She makes it look easy, and even a seasoned dancer will say that alarippu is one of the most difficult dances to perfect.

  • She smiles beautifully and is very beautiful, so that helps, but there's not enough crispness...alaripu should be very precise...it's too soft

  • wow that was really beautiful, bless your talent!

  • She is so bad! Allarippu should be fast. It represents the beautiful blooming of a flower. It should increase its speed as the "flower" starts to bloom and take its original form. She doing the steps with an unecessary grace.

  • she's not an Indian originally, isn't she? She moves like an European women, not an Indian.

  • That video remind me of Vyjayanthimala's dance in "New Delhi" film....

  • I think she is in one bharathanatia dvd on geedvd/com

  • She is dancing perfect.. yaa.. her perfection does look like that of a Guru..

is this full alaripu and other items available here or on some other site?

    please let me know..

  • Cant post links here. Just google for Chandra Devi and you'll find more clips

  • Is this video available on JayQ(.)org ? I can't find it there.

  • My goodness her arms and legs must hurt, though I'd imagine being able to hold those positions for a long time would require ample practice. She's doing remarkable, however. Great performance.

  • Wow...she didn't even move her lips. She's one heck of a ventriloquist!

  • (WHATS THE Name THIS SONG) This was awsome She is GOOd

  • alarippu in tisram jathi

  • Alarippu

  • nice dance i olso can dace this dance but i serch for sabdam

  • Hey guys, watch the dance legend Vyjayanthimala doing the same alarippu in v04(video title) by c3p10.

  • yeah this is beautiful and i applaud her...however when she is at the third position, her knees are not fully out- she is pointing them towards us

  • i m learnin bharathanatyam n i hv learned tis dance...its veri difficult 2 do...bt she performed it veri well!

  • I don't know how she performs(I actually find her dancing very nice) but she's damn beautiful! especially when she smiles

  • WOOOOW...She's amazing...I'm learning to dance Bharata Natyam and it is hard but beautiful...and this performance is awesome!

  • She's absolutely amazing, So gorgeous and her symmetry for every move is just perfect.

  • i finished alarippu when i was 8 yrs old. THis was a odd performance. I think she was just kind of to good for this.

  • omg i memba doin the sm dance years ago arnd bout wen i was 10 or sumthin, o god i cant memba it nymore. I think she shud open up her legs a bit more wen she jumps, it wud luk nicer.

shes dun a nice job of it tho.

  • Well I danced Bharata Natyam I think her performance is not on par with what I´ve seen.

It took me two years to dance Alarippu though. I respect her!

  • there are many styles of bharatnatyam. it is possible that you learned a different style that her.

  • For anyone who has become a student of Bharatanatyam later in life, only they can know how difficult it is to catch up and peform as beautifully as she has. Ive just started at the age of 24 and its harder for someone who's never danced the style than it is for a younger person just starting out. Remember, the older you get the harder it is to learn!

She's a beautiful dancer! I enjoy watching her, and her grin makes her even prettier! It kind of her "thing"!

  • très beau.

  • i love that dance i think she did a great job. i loved her face also

  • Poor performence......

  • shouldn't somone of her age be performing a little more advanced dances like Tillana. But she did good.

  • Oh, she's my guru, she can dance really well! Check out the clips on her own site! As it is not possible to include URLs in comments, I can not send you a link. Just google for Chandra Devi and check out the "fotos and clips" menu (top menu bar)! Have fun!

  • @AnimeFreazk101 Tillana is the Last item performed in a kucheri! Alarippu is usually danced first in the traditional margam. It is more like a warm up. There is nothing wrong in anyone performing an Alarippu.

  • amazing! i love her performance! Bharatanatyam contains a lot of difficult mouvement and foot work (also in the Kathak dancing)

  • Stupid perfomance.

  • It's a lot of hard work. Well done!

  • la baratha nathyam c la vois de la sagesse et de notre corps, je vous encourage tte a comencer la pratique de cette danse sacrée!!!!

  • drop the grin, and relax

  • You have no clue whatsoever how hard it is to hold those crouching positions. She is beautiful. And I am amazed.
