@2211JW And it's funny reading about your "subway" story. How you just judged a person for being a menace to society because he littered. LMAO I feel the closest you've been around "blacks" is a family full of white people who's last name just so happens to be Black. It's people like you who are the true menace to society. Because you play devil's advocate and teach hate. These people don't need lectures, they need help.Which is hard when they don't have people to go to for it.
@2211JW I agree with the pulling the pants up part but I don't speak english I speak american. And slang / ebonics is an american language. If it's good enough for sportscenter to use it's good enough for me. And It's not like you don't understand what I'm saying anyway. It's easy for someone who doens't have to face these situations to judge them. And when you're not doing anything to help you definity should keep your mouth closed.
Regardless of what many think ,there are soldiers in the streets everyday interrupting ,breaking up and preventing violence!I myself have broken up someone getting jumped and risked my own life only to have people intervene after the fact(the moral of it all is) had I sat and did nothing ,neither would anyone else!
If violence be gets violence then so does Love be get Love...
@Y2KillerSPOOBLY hi, did you get the answer to your question? If yes, do you want to share it with me? cos I can't find the name of the woman who sings this cover? greetz
.... beliefs that, that is how a person should act. A lot of niggas need to grow up man. Its sad, but f@ck em, they should take the steps they need to take to make their lives better and make sure their kids dont see the shit they saw. But nah, people would rather take the easy route and be part of the problem.
It all starts from a young age, you niggas act out as you want in front of your children, drinking, smoking, drugs, selling drugs, calling each other derogatory names, hitting your baby mamas, cussin, fighting, telling war stories .... so from a young age; a kid only knows what it sees from the people thats in its surrounding and the kid mimics it. And when other kids also have a similar life style and they act out they way they see their parents/family/friends acting, it just confirms their
Why is it only in African American communities that this is happening? You can't blame this strictly on poverty, predominately white areas that are also poor do not suffer from high murder rates. I think this has something to do with the media's portal and reinforcement of urban youth violence being acceptable.
Amazing documentary, people who are clueless need to watch it and be open minded. Just because someone has made bad choices in the past doesnt mean they have to succumb to that life style. We all have choices, we all can make the world a better place.
these people have cloths on their backs, roofs over their heads, and food in their stomachs, i dont see what the problem is...
i currently live in a 3rd world country where there is far less of what these people have.. there is NO welfare, govt assistance, or even supermarkets. people here raise their families in bambo shacks with aluminum siding for roofs. And the funny thing is, THERE IS NO VIOLENCE HERE.. why is that?
@jtz27 Part of it is there's such division betw the rich & poor here. Decades ago, when most Americans were equally poor there was less violence. Now there are ppl living in million+ $ mansions & just a few miles away are people living in squalor. Also Americans are very disconnected from each other, families live apart&don't help ea other, neighbors don't talk to ea other, etc. When ppl do talk it's via web sites like this. There's not enough direct contact&communication among ppl anymore, imho.
@PurrGrrl well same goes for here.. i see nice homes here right next door to bamboo shacks but at least the people communicate to each other weather your rich or poor..
even the communities here once a year have a community celebration and the entire community is invited to attend the festivities. rich or poor it doesn't matter.. its so sad that a 3rd world country is setting a better example than the leader of the free world..
i started crying from 0:33 and onwards. Me and my sister are so going to wath this. So sad. Why would people kill each others children and each other?
This is so beautiful.People have the courage to stand up against the guns. Its hard to grow up there, its not that there born that wa,y its the community and the environment that they were all brought up in, from the moment they enter school they learn that the way that they need to 'protect' themselves and to 'put people down' is by violence, and it started all the way back in history with black minorities being brought down by skin color, is disgusting how we have treated them. Make it right!
@thecpierron its not only the blacks so stfu all colours have it rough all over the world im so fucking tired of hearing its black its how we treat black what about all other colours white espanic asians europeans and so on
How do black communities get that way in the first place? Are black people born that way? Don't they create their own ghetto? Didn't they create these problems for themselves?
"Don't they create their own ghetto?" Well let's look at history and figure out how blacks and other minorities ended up in the inner city poor communities in the first place. In the 1930s and 40s governmental programs were created that subsidized low-cost loans. The problem is nonwhites were locked out of homebuying just as many white Americans were getting in. As a result today segregated communities and a large wealth gap between whites and nonwhites exist.
powerful and inspiring. it's refreshing to see people who've made terrible mistakes rise above their situation and dedicate their lives to helping people. i can't wait to see this.
They think it's bad there, take your to Juarez for a couple of days. 400 homicides is a drop in the bucket compared to 2800 in a calender.
