the so called coup was justified and approved by the govt & congress. The military was asked to throw Zelaya out.
its called honduras protecting their DEMOCRACY !!
the international community and now unfortunately the USA are very socialist and totalitarian and regretably side with Castro, Chavez, UN and other cocksuckers.
Comparing, I'm sure for you it was ok for Fidel Castro to get rid off Batista by any means necessary (including the use of firing squads), but not ok for the Cuban exile to retake their country the same way?? I get it, it's ok for leftist like you to use violence, but not for democratic people like me. I have bad news for you, 90% of Hondurans don't give a rat's ass what you think. Like the blessed U.S.A, we will contunue to cling to our guns and to our bibles! don't you ever forget!
Honduras will defend its democracy and freedom at any cost, always low as mandated by the constitution of Honduras, not that of Brazil or the United States, or that of Iran or Venezuela.
The constitution requires the president to protect its people and the state of siege is legal.
capitalism has it's problems though - it leads to exploitation and vast differences in the working classes.. and that leads to problems in efficiency - the US is a perfect example..
but actually.. I should be saying 'socialism'.. not 'communism' below...
communism doesn't actually exist.. just like djtj1987 says...every country is a certain level captalist and certain level socialist.. - in the US the republicans support capitalism and the democrats socialism - socialism says the workers should own and control all wealth and decide democratically it's distribution - capitalism is just.. everyone grab whatever you can and it's yous..
You may find both the Democrats and the Republicans are hardened pro-capitalists. "One political party with two right wings", as Gore Vidal so gracefully put it.
capitalism may be a useful system.. since it inspires higher achievement - but it is fueled by greed. And since we know people are greedy.. capitalism works - well. On the other hand communism believes in sharing what a community has.. for all - it is definitely not an evil concept.. it just tends to not inspire higher levels of production.. because it doesn't capitalize on the worst of us the way capitalism does. - our greed... capitalism works great - but its nothing to be proud of.
and also Kenor you talk about socialism as if it were something bad... well let me tell you something its not bad at all! look at south america, only 1 or 2 countries arent socialists, look at europe a lot of countries in europe are socialists... are any of them 3rd world countries? NO! so go back to school first, learn the difference about socialism and communism ok...
You are wrong again...communist are very real and live among us, most of them hide as profesors in universities. What Honduras is going through is a transition period and not a dictatorship. Just read some political history and you will know that Democracy requires check and balances and socialism/Comunism doesn't and always end up with one ruler (Cuba, Russia, North Korea and now Venezuela).
'communists are very real and live among us'... geezus.. ok mcarthy.
fricken paranoid conspiracy theory faux news parasites.
listen.. communism is a style of government.. it isn't a 'person'.. if someone believes that communism is a good system - you could disagree with their view of a good political system.. but that doesn't make them evil.. idiots. - we equate communism with evil due to countries we've been at war with in the past.. but communism is no more 'evil' than capitalism - less even
Don't mean to offend you, but your analogy of communism is of a fifth grader. I was in Honduras in the 80's and many of my teachers were self declared communists and hated the United States...then I moved to the U.S. and many of my University teachers were no different. Communism is more than "sharing what a community has" It's a well define style of government that in the end goes against all human rights. When you can, read Karl Marx communist manifesto..please.
Anyone with the slightest interest in Human Rights in Honduras in the 1980s would have been angry as hell at what the well documented crimes against humanity the US government was supporting.
Funny how you don't mention the human rights violations in 80's by the FMLN in El Salvador, Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and currently Hugo Chavez...Socialist love to apply human rights only to democratic governments...well, in Honduras they just got a little taste of their own medicine.
The only thing I'd change from what I said above is my typo "what"!
As to any others, feel free to mention them where appropriate.I'd not approve of any.I am curious as to what you have on Chavez. In Honduras they just got a little taste of the same bastards who ran death squads from there in the 80s, including Billy Joya Améndola.
That's the problem with you apeacers "I'd not appove of any"...you live in this utopia. Newsflash! there are evil people in this world and they need to be comfronted. When George Bush was in power, your buddy Zelaya was a little angel and as soon as Obama took office he went full speed with the constitutional amendment. But I'm sure you don't let the facts get in the way of a good story!
In a utopia because I wouldn't approve of crimes against humanity? Does that make you a realist who believes such crimes are necessary?
Between a) a honduran constitution written by a sanguinary dictatorship in 1982 that controlled all the outcomes and b) the chance of the idea of the concept of the notion of a new constitution implemented via popular vote and support and debate in 2009, I'd chose b) over a) one million times. But you'd have to have an interest in actual democracy.
and Kenor12 you mention the dictatorship in the 80's by the military.... well dont be so blind! we basically are living the same as the 80's with micheletti! we have no constitutional rights, you cant think for yourself otherwise they beat you up and throw you to jail, JUST LIKE THE 80's!! so dont say that you dont want to live a dictatorship with president Zelaya because we are living a dictatorship right now with micheletti!
ok let me just say to binkten and kenor12 and to all you hondurans who im ashamed to call hondurans because you look so ridiculous with those comments you make... first of all COMUNISM DOESNT EXIST! so stop it with that, that is just a lie that the de facto government has been telling to the people.. and you say you dont want to live in a dictatorship? well let me tell you that what we are living right now IS a dictatorship!
The return of Zelaya obviously meant for the U.S. a threat in order to carry out the elections, elections where only 4 pro Coup candidates and Micheletti/oligarcy puppets are participating. Those puppets, being one of the strongest ones Pepe Lobo, who was the president of the COngress during the last term and who enticed the death Penalty in Honduras is from the National Party, ie- the party behind all coups in Honduras, the party paid by Chiquita and US government.
The comment once a scorpian always is not true, because there is no longer a cold war between Russia and US. On the one side u have right wing decendents of narcotrifficantes no longer tolerated by US and on the other side some body that wanna be prez for ever like Chavez, rich people can afford to dream about political utopias, but the poor in Honduras just want to be able to eat like they all should in a furtile country and live in peace. Dem Nazi retards r just making Zeleya look like JesusC.
Ugo Chavez despite authoritarian style rule can not be considered a dictator, since dictators do not lose the referendums like Chavez did about a year ago. He hasn't bankrupted his country either, which is a sign that he is a capable leader who can govern decently. I don't however approve of his closing of the opposition radio stations, that clearly isn't democratic, but i guess since the day Chavez nearly got assassinated by the "shills of imperialism" democracy isn't his most trusted term...
No, its not worth it, I am not going to change your way of thinking and you are not going to change mine. I wrote the comment for other people to read.
Undersatnd that this is not the 1st time Honduras tells communism to take a hike! We did it in the 80s...people in Honduras (contrary to you) have a CLEAR knowledge of what is communism. We understand that the fastest way to a dictatoship is a socialist/communist state...trust me, Chavez will become a ruthless dictator soon.
And all they have to do is stop supporting the coup mongers with US trade (which makes up 75% of Honduran trade) and vague statements on the coup, and silence on the many documented dictatorship abuses.
hmmm --- nice thoughts, but not very accurate...1st statement dead on, not just Latina America...but everywhere in the world..Read "All the Shah men" Good ex..one country alone Iran..
Also, true that the CIA was behind this alll the way..after all a scorpion is always a scorpion..this is the same CIA that has been wrecking central for decades!
don't agree....Zeleya is NOT socialist..he is progressive...huge diff...Capitalism rules even in Venezuela..
well whether he is a progressive or a socialist, both are hated by the ultra capitalists who run america.
but their mechanisms of power are being exposed more and more each day. and in a few years as more and more people get educated by independant media which ultra-capitalists do not control, they get closer to losing there power completely.
and yet the changes Zelaya made...it's nothing...hell the US has more safety net than even Venezuela could dream of...
It's about the s&^% of a constitution that was dictated by John Negroponte and Otto Reich...the scum of the earth...handing over all government powers to the oligarchy and the transnationals...The people do not have a voice...
And so you have a country that has the biggest (probably 2nd behind brazil) economic divide of the western hemisphere...
But I love my freedom. I don't want to live an authoritarian dictatorship. Why should I pay for someone's lazyness? I want my hard work to pay off and be handed over to someone else.
do you love your freedom to die for lack of health care? freedom to lose your blue collar or white collar job to a foreign worker as a result of globalization? love your freedom to be shot by a criminal who could buy a gun? freedom to die from cancer from air and drinking water poluted by unregulated corporations? freedom to live around psychos raised by women who had the freedom to abuse their kids and have as many as possible?
certain unlimited freedoms cause all of human suffering.
That new defacto president got a shit load of bullets waiting to enter his head... I would pump him up full of lead if i was there... fucking criminals.
The police and military need an adversary to function. Without an adversary, their jobs are meaningless.
The police state mentality is a wonderful thing for these people, as their adversaries are increased. Their oath is devoid of morals, god or country in the police state.
They are just sheep, like most of the population, just trained differently... with automatic weapons.
I agree with the Honduran people, we do not want any more communist countries, all though i do agree with the U.S.A this was not the way to do it. All you had to do was impeach the president and put some one else in his place instead of kicking him out of the house like the dog he is. The same should happen to the Nicaraguan president, hes a communist gargage, i cant wait to see the out come of this great country even though Hondura is poor it stands up against injustice and communism
I can't believe the right wing in the USA supports these thugs. It just shows what they think of the rule of law. It takes me back to Reagan's secret wars. The truth means nothing to these people. I guess a lot of people are attracted to that. It just seems that people should be better than that. I guess it takes time. We used to be a lot worse. Slowly we'll leave this kind of behavior behind.
its a shame that that the entire world turns their back on honduras but dont worry we will show that our small country is large at heart and brave to stand to chavez ways not like argentina chile brasil ecuador nicaragua bolivia and the rest of the countries that kiss chavez asss!!! viva honduras
