  • Do you know the song "umba kiya kiya marana baye" about the calf that is going to be slaughtered?

    nice song btw.

  • Yes Renuka, I know 'Umba kiya kiya' sung by Milton Perera. Very sad indeed. Thanks for your comment.

  • Vidura,

Do you have Attanagalu Welapilla (Mage Himiyaneni Mage Pathiyaneni) which is rated very high. Once in a private meeting with me Ivor Dennis sang a part of this which I taped to my dictaphone. I have no words to desribe the beauty of this melody. Could never find Sunil's original version, though.

    Jayantha (MJA)

  • No I don't have the Attanagalu welapilla Jayantha. I am sure it must be very rare. Some of these tracks are with the private collectors than the Radio Ceylon.

  • Lovely song. Have not heard this before. Beautiful visuals.

This reminds me of the popular song by C T Fernando,

"Pinsiduwanne Ane Bala Lamunne, Mage Kuda Niwasa Kada Bima Nodammanne"

    Thanks for the upload.

  • Thanks Tharu for your lovely comment. Yes, who can forget CT's 'Pinsiduwanne'? I'm sure yt has it somewhere too. We should teach our little ones not to hurt innocent creatures.

  • The solo part of this songs after the first four minutes shows the astonishing power of Sunil Santha's vocal artistry. His voice also can be heard in the chorus. Note the difference.

    MJA

  • Good clear observation there. Thanks for your comment MJA.
