Another thing would be a curved track which would do the Renault justice by owning that honda in the handling.

Straight line performance is an element of driving cars and this video shows what these cars can do. Dry your eyes.

Cars should never be compared in straight line performance alone. That said, it is mostly down to driver skill when it comes to it. Unless of course you are on a big long straight road like this one. Which is for pussies as far as i am concerned.

s2000 has 60 bhp more and clio has 150 kg advantage so power to weight is about 20bhp per ton difference so s2000 a little quicker

That should happen, i have a 172 and its a quick car (190bhp) although its a class down when compared with the s2000, for a start the s2000 is RWD so traction off the line isnt a problem and there isnt a huge differance in the weight! The clio doesnt stand a chance really but good to see the differance another 60bhp makes

There's about 150kg in the weight, the Clio is much lighter.

1090 kg (~70% front)

1240 kg (~50% front)

Otherwise this wouldn't even be close. Interestingly, toward the end of the video you see a standing start, the Clio performs very well holding the S2000 off for a good while.

I think that really shows the difference in and importance of weight, when a FWD launches better than a RWD.

60 hp is an extra 33%, that's a lot. ;p
