I'm angry as hell. 2 weeks ago, I landed in the hospital in ICU with cardio-pulmonary problems (which I'd never had before)... and being one of the un-insured, I had to cancel my appointments with the heart and lung doctors, as the bills keep coming in....upwards of $20,000.00. How the hell am I going to pay this?
It's a disgrace to every american that we can always find the funds for war, but we can't take care of our own people.
The healthcare in this country is run by the insurance companies and the drug companies. They care only about maximizing their profits. If you die, you don't cost them anymore money.

For those who think that the Canadian single payer plan is a bad idea, all I can say is don't believe what you have heard. I go to Canada periodically and have asked people over there about their health care system and they all, to a person, think it works just fine.
For the life of me, I don't see how anyone who works for an insurance company can read about a person's fatal condition and then DENY them the operation or procedure that could save that person's life. People like that are not human. They can't be.
Come to Europe and see how we do it, we all pay our taxes so we are entitled to health care as a right, just as we expect the police, fire dept and other vital services to be paid for by taxation.

No waiting for hospital treatment if you have serious illnesses, minor illnesses you may have to wait up to a month. You can see a GP within 24 hrs or less.
Also, if you do have money, yo can still have private treatment if you choose that option
