@painlessissuicide I completely agree, they simplified the artwork way too much. The art style of the Joker, for example, is much better looking in the original art style.

@Charlesperalo It's never explicitly stated, but it is implied that Bruce and Barbara have a "thing" a few years down the line. As for the blond on the golf course, I don't know.

@2wingo I can see them having a relationship. Really it's more her than Bruce and I believe in Batwomen when Barbara calls him it's stated they have a thing for each other. Also one last note for this episode. With Batgirl and Night Wing sitting right up there. You think someone would notice a similarity between a long haired guy and a red head.

@silverhawkflash From what I heard in an interview, Bruce Timm had stated that in retrospect it was the worst art decision he had ever made. It seemed like a good idea at the time, "To update the art design to match Superman Adventures", but he never intended his concept designs to be interpreted as rigidly as they were. In Justice League he had the art team make the Joker look more like he did before. The Joker had lost a lot of his former expression range making him look very bland & inhuman.

I liked this episode because it sort of showed how people are easily swayed by money. Thought it had a good message and it was a hell of a great episode xD. My favorite scene is when he is talking about the IRS.

it still had it's dark moments. like in batman of the future return of the joker when the joker gets shot. although they edited it and altered 2 things. joker's death was turned into an accident instead of plain murder and in the edited version they cut out the part where joker stabs batman with the blade in his leg. didn't see much of a problem with the last one but i love things when they're "original" especially in BTAS

I thought those episodes were very well written. But the superman animation team screwed over the character model for the joker. Glad they did him justice again in the Justice League cartoon.

This animation is from the New Batman Adventures, which had the same writers as the original animated series but was forced to "streamline" the animation and was combined with the animators who did the Superman cartoon. Thankfully, they restored the Joker to his former glory in later adaptations in Justice League Unlimited and Batman Beyond.

there were many changes from Batman: TAS, Gotham Knights episodes then Batman Beyond ROTJ Joker look was used in Justice League.

That's because this design came after Batman: TAS was handed over to the animators responsible for Superman. When the show was new, I'm pretty sure it had a bigger budget and they devoted a lot more effort into the animation.

When it merged with Superman and became a joined timeslot, the quality of the show took a pretty big nosedive. I'm certain that the guys behind Justice League didn't want to disregard the earlier designs in favor of the cheaper ones that came later.

I hate the Joker's look in the "New Batman Adventures" ! They simplified his face so much he just didn't look like a proper Joker anymore. But his best face IMO was in "Batman Beyond : Return Of The Joker" : He really looked diabolical.

I think the TAS staff must have undergone some changes. Looks like either that, or this was meant to be seperate from the original at first, then decided just to call it season four.

I actually kind of like this design. It feels more...funnier. Although it seems easy to draw, it's pretty good. Doesn't his eyes kinda look like the "Spy vs. Spy" segament in those MAD comics? I miss these times. Its obvious the old series back in the 90s were better than we have today. Mark Hamill wasn't acting as the Joker: he WAS the Joker. Ownage.
