No one makes a "swap kit" for the Z32 300zx. - Custom made motor mounts - Z32 Trans mount - Z32 transmission w/RB26 bellhousing - RB25 clutch slave cylinder - N/A Z32 clutch - RB26 flywheel - custom made (or no) front sway bar - Notched front subframe - RB26 oil pan (instead of RB25 stamped pan, but it works) w/AWD stuff hacked off and TIG welded shut - Standalone, such as PowerFC D-Jetro
...and so on.

I like how ricers always call out these engine codes like 2JayZ and RedBull26 like it's supposed to take away from the fact that they make sh*t hp and belong to sh*t economy cars. Next I"ll watch videos of the 42A3 AKA Geo Metro.
@ladygodia your an idiot. between 90-96 guess what 3 cars were the fastest on the street. the 300 zx the rx7 and the toyota supra. the twin turbo 300 zx was so fast that chevy put the corvette back in the shop to try to beat it. just like they did with the gtr and the new zr1 vette. crap cars... really these cars have such history behined them that it makes them legendary, or ahead of there time. lets not forget that the gnx was a twin turbo v6 too. know ur shit before u open ur mouth
@bluehypnotic2004 300ZX,RX7, and the Toyota Supra weren't the fastest on the street. They were the poorest selling. Corvette is corvette and it killed the Supra in America. No one wanted to pay 30-40K for a Supra when they could buy a corvette so you know what they brought a Corvette. BTW Grandsport was the king. Get your info right little ricer. 300ZX was infamous for being a brick, the RX7 was infamous for having engine problems and breaking down, the Supra TT was also an over priced brick.
@bluehypnotic2004 lets see 90-96 you have the Cobra Mustang, Z28's, Trans am's. and your telling me your ricer buckets were dominating the streets? Those were the Slowest cars of that era. F'n ricers I swear you all need to be wrapped around a pole in a honda.
@Artyom1gangster you insolent little estrogen intoxicated rice boy! Why on god's green earth would anyone take out the VGTT(factory motor) for a RB26(rice motor) when the VG30DETT is just as powerful? Next time buy a fuckin' Skyline and leave the 300's unmolested! God this is what i hate about these young snot nosed sorry excuse of car guys who get their dirty little paws on nice cars like this and put on any crap in their vehicles such as single exhausts, stickers & extraterrestrial bodykits!
@jmsosa92833 the straight 6 has more torque, and it dosent ruin a 300, if you want to talk about ruining a 300 talk to the buy who put a ls7 in it, honestly id rather have the straight 6 then the v 6, i have a 1990 300zx and would rather have the RB26, and i love how people call us rice boys, ricers, etc, its all the american muscle car owners that are mad cause we spend the same amount of money but the imports have twice the horsepower haha grow up and learn what your talking about
@2010brandonf I honestly don't see how putting a LS series motor could be bad they weigh the less at only 500ish vs the VG or the RB monster wieght of 600+ the LS series is just as capable and cheap to upgrade. And if you buy a wrecked car can be had for under $4k so its really not more expensive. Infact the swap is so comparable that it all comes down to preference
Personally I love the look of opening the hood to a rb26 so I'm trying to go that route now in my s13 convertible project.
@sidewayznut2009 honestly, people shouldnt put shit chevy motors in an amazing car like the 300zx, LS motors are the biggest pile of shit out there, and to ruin a 300zx like that, it just pisses me off, nissan motors are the best out there and to swap one for a pos is just stupid
@2010brandonf LOL I hate stupid fan boys I absolutely love Nissan and Nissan motors but you honestly have no clue what an amazing motors the LS series Chevy are they are simple light weight and high quality motors they have awesome economy awesome power and are really cheap to maintain and upgrade.
which what it comes down to is cost the titan v8 is an amazing motor but with no aftermarket support no 5 or 6 speed made for it and its rarity the LS is a clear choice even if its a lessor motor
@sidewayznut2009 fan boy? you better watch your shit little boy, im a mechanic and i know what the fuck im talking about, and LS are the biggest pieces of shit out there, nissan is better and always will be, LS cant compete
@2010brandonf your a fag fan boy in high school maybe changed an altenator or two.
I've been working on cars as long as I can remember and the only reason why I got away from mechanic work is because I got tired of customers and wanted to learn to fabricate. I love Nissans because they last forever and take all the abuse I was ever able to throw at them. But that doesn't change the fact your a NOOB that only knows what you've learned from forums and video games that much is apparent.
@sidewayznut2009 working on them and being a mechanic are two different things little boy, i graduated from hillyard technical center with a degree in automotive technology, i didnt just turn a couple wrenches and think im a mechanic i got all the paper work to prove it, and yes i do read forums keeping up to date on everything, and im pretty sure im not a noob since ive built a car from the ground up and a truck from the ground up, so before you starting talking about shit you dont know, think
@2010brandonf lolz shut the fuck up noob working on them in a professional shop and knowing what your doing is called being a mechanic I didn't say I worked on them in my back yard dummy. I just said I was sick of customers I love working on my own stuff but customers were making me sick of working on all cars.
Your obviously 16 kid so quit bull shitting I know that because I was 16 once also.
@sidewayznut2009 i was born august 25 1991 so im 19 and i know, i know more about cars then you ever will, and you must have worked in low budget shops cause i never had to talk to the customers, i was to busy doing my work, i guess im spoiled cause i worked at ford not some half ass wanna be shop. but its funny i have friends like you who think they know how to do something but when it comes down to it my phone will be ringing so i can come fix what they fucked up haha, learn your shit boy
your 19 that explains all. Your a noob a mechanics helper even if you work at Ford dealership not too surprising Ford took you and not Nissan. XD running a scanner and replacing an o2 sensor isn't really mechanic work. I love knowing how to fabricate anybody can swap a 240sx i've been doing other swaps since I was 16 with Mitsubishi and Honda I've done 3 sr20 s13s and a RB25 s14 and VERY easy strait forward. RB26 requires a little more work but I plan on keeping the awd.
@sidewayznut2009 i rebuilt engines you dumbass, and i can fabricate, when you get the experience of putting a RB25 in the engine bay of a 240z then maybe you can insult me, just cause im 19 doesnt mean i dont know what im talking about, you need to learn that old farts like you are getting taken out of this business cause the new day and age is electonics, and i know all of the new stuff including the old so im a better mechanic then you, im done fighting with you, i know my stuff
@2010brandonf Great I started rebuilding motors and doing minor fabrication when I was 14 but theres a difference between knowing how to mig weld carbon steel and make simple brackets and tig weld chromoly, aluminum and titanium as well as the thin sheet metal you find in cars without warping it. making simple brackets isn't that hard at all and thats not what I'm talking about I've done that before in a Cummings swap.
RB25 to a Z is a farily strait forward swap b/c the motors sizes.
@2010brandonf actually I didn't find a direct motor mount kit when I did a RB swap so yes I did that minor fab work similar to what you would have to do in a 240z swap. But I did that swap along time ago infact at that time I hardly knew what skyline was and thought 240sx were fwd so my favorite Nissan was the 300zx tt and the 240z.
So my first swap was a RB to a s14 if I remember right it was 2004?! or 2005 anyways non of my Nissan swaps were my car. We did that a 600hp Mustang to Dubai.
@sidewayznut2009 whats great about knowing and understanding how metal works is I can make my s13 awd and do it right not worry about paying someone bunch of money and worrying about it later on then since the convertibles are flimsy I can proceed to make the car more ridged starting by seem welding it then by adding structure just things I couldn't do before I knew how tig weld and make almost anything outta sheet metal and pipe.
Does anybody know the owner for this car, I have a Built RB25DET thats going into my 300Z I need to know what's a good clutch for this car and also what type of exhaust is best for flowing.
Sounds pretty mint man...Single exhaust is a good option for more power asthetically it's not as nice though....what sort of work was involved in the swap?
LISTEN!!! EVERYBODY!!! STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT THAT KIM KARDASHIAN POST I PUT UP MONTHS AGO!!! IT WAS A DAMN JOKE!!! I LIKE TO SEE Z's WITH @ EXHAUST IT EVERY WIERD SEEING THEM WITH ONE!!! BUT I KNOW WHY SOME PEOPLE USE ONE EXHAUST!! HOP OFF MY NUTTS ALREADY!!
Yea dude just find an entry of mine with a statement bout v12's yea u Kant so dude go learn to interpret shit better and stop buddin into convos u kno little to nothin of
@DrumMayne dude your what 13 can you drive yet ? i care little to nothing about what the fuck comes out of your trap. If you want to talk to big boys about cars grow some hair on your chest and come back in 3 years
@rafaelislife5 My age and wether I do or don't have a car (which I do) has nothing to do with my credibility to criticize your grammar haha. I never said anything about a car, and nothing is coming out of my trap cause I'm typing all of this. K.thx.bai.
@DrumMayne thx 4 the comment i really dnt care how i type on the internet i could type all punctual like but that would take mad long i would ratha write semi short hand and save a min or 2
@DANIAL3W RB26DETT 277 hp/293 tq 2JZGTE 320 hp / 315 tq the 2jz has a tad more tq and power but the supra weights bout 3250-3500 lbs as the skyline weights bout 3100-3400 lbs so the skyline is slightly weaker but is also slightly lighter and awd the supra is slightly more powerful but is heavier and rwd both are grat engines cuz both can handle up 2 900+hp on a stock block both sound wicked both get respect wen seen under the hood.its really upto your likes
@d240786 i kno i'm jus sayin the 300zx has a hella short nose and yeah i kno how large the vg's r and how heavy they r also dat dont change da fact the rb still has little "breathing space"
@rafaelislife5 not many motors that have any power would have breathing space I'm just saying the rb26dett has more space than the vg30tt I know it's still rammed in there but the vg30tt literally has to be taken apart in the engine bay!
Anyway who really cares this guy is cool for doing a transplant that makes sense i.e. nissan for nissan and has chosen probably the most popular engine for 300zx tuners to transplant......
@d240786 no dout bro it is a clean swap and a great engine and i agree wit u i hate inter-company swaps like a 2jz ina s2k. no not 4 me but i am pretty sure he probably had a shell cuz the vg is a decent power house and can easily put out 400hp wit mild upgrades like larger turbos ,large front mount ,boost controller mild tune it'll get ya there. now wit da money u spend on swapping any rb u can build a stronger vg.
Why is everyone arguing about the RB or VG setup? Are we forgetting that these are Nissan engines used in LEGENDARY cars (300ZX & Skyline for example), It doesn't matter which one you choose, It will NOT disappoint you, Very nice Z bro.
@xRicanReaperx rb's are all inline motors buddy.. If its single turbo, that usually means big power, and one exhaust.. If its a twin setup, almost all skylines run one pipe...
@xRicanReaperx the twin exhaust on this car was because it had a twin turbo v6 in it now it has a straight 6 which makes it too wierd to do a dual exhaust on this swap.
Haha... funny, but I disagree. If the car only has one turbo and therefore only needs one exhaust outlet, why put another on? That's why I hate seeing 4-cylinder cars with two exhaust outlets (srt4, new ms3). It's just plain pointless and doesn't look as good in my opinion.
@xRicanReaperx I agree too the twin exit definetely suits the shape of the 300zx better and to be honest I like the original engine too it was made for it, the sound of the vg30tt with a decent exhaust system seem's to go with it just right for me...
@luki01111 how did i miss ur point wat it sounded like was u dont think and rb has enough power for twin exhaust even tho an rb can hold up to 1000hp on the stock block dat means a built fukin head 2 fat ass turbos the size of pam Anderson's tits and the boost controller way up and still u would not need to fuk wit the bottom end. tho not recommended its still not needed all using one exhaust pipe and comparing that 2 a ferrari pls bro theres no compo there
@TheRiseagainstfan dude ur a fuktard kid a genarel question like dat is pointless dats like sayin u kno hondas make 4cyl rite? yeah and wat is dat gonna change this discussion in any way
@rafaelislife5 its gonna change it because you laughed at him for mentioning ferrari v8s... you sound like the uneducated jackass that thinks every ferrari has a v12, and now youre just trying to cover it up
@TheRiseagainstfan and engines of dat weight wat 600lbs and only 350-500hp lol dude dat less den 1hp per lbs on the engine alone include the other 3k-4k lbs of shit load car dude do the math. and may u quote me on what i said bout v12's b4 now
@xRicanReaperx The RB26DETT is a straight 6, and this is a single turbo converted motor, therefore: 1 turbo, 1 down pipe, 1 turbo back exhaust system. The TT V6 needed 2 separate exhaust systems because it was a V motor, and utilized twin turbos. It would make zero sense to split a single turbo car into dual exhaust. Yes that means your SRT-4 owners.
@LXnastynotch93 Word word thats kool I could deff understand that but trust me I own a Z with so many mods I'm still waiting for it Transform already lol
absolutely amazing...i have a 91 z32 tt with the standard vg30 engine...i want to know where could i get the rb 26 for fairly nothing so i can rebuild it...
Hey at least he kept it in the Nissan family. lol I much rather have the V motor than an inline motor. That is just me though. I think the VG motor is a prettier motor than the RB26. I like the duel exhaust because of the VG instead of the one exhaust. Looks goofy to me. Now I would rather see that RB motor go into something like a 240sx s14 or s15. Now that would be nice. Be the Z heritage simply should stay with the VG motor.
VG motor is "prettier" lol obviously this guy doesnt know what hes talkin about!!!.....Na Im just kiddin man Ive watched a lot of your videos and Im thoroughly impressed. U might see my Z down there in your shop if I can ever figure out how to save money...I know totally un-american right?
To those askin why rb and not vg first of all it's a project car it's called doing something different I'm sure they have done some Vgs and even though my love is my tt z I must say that the rb does rev faster hince the 2.6 which I doubt this one is still at
@MrTulsa sure it REVS faster, but the vg has good down low grunt that u want to have. I LOVE inlines dont get me wrong, but hate how bad they lag without a proper setup. Like a fully built 2jz, u floor it, u wait for it, u wait for it, still waiting, then boom a huge spike in power which leads to wheelspin!! damn it
rb26 uses a flat planed crankshaft and a VG30dett uses a crossplaned which all v6 uses therefore v6 and v8 are inefficient engines unlike a inline 6, v10, v12, unless if a ferrari v8 which has a 180 degree crank not a 90 degree.
I can almost bet my left nutsack that the Ferrari F430 has a 90 degree V8 engine setup. I believe it is the same case with the 458 Italia as it reuses the same engine.
oh sorry 2010 f30 use 90 degree v8 theve only been using flat plane v8 for 30 years its the first year theve used it buddy you make it sound like theve been using them for years
@seamless4 flatplane/crossplane doesn't actually affect efficiency at all. The distinction between the two is how the engine vibrations are handled. A flatplane V design requires balance shafts, a crossplane only requires counterweights, and inlines don't have 2nd order vibrations so they can be either.
ya it does dumbass they dont fire in paralell the fire order is all over the place
usually fires on one side more then once. which causes exhaust inbalence hence the balance tubes on v6 or v8 engines unlike a flatplane v8 v10 v12 they run perfect.
if you knew anything about engine performance you would have shut your mouth and agreed with me.
@seamless4 Oh my god, that's not called balance, you Jeg's reading troll! You are talking about even or odd firing order, which only makes exhaust scavenging more convenient. The topic WAS intrinsic balance between crank styles, engine configuration/bank angles.
BTW your list is wrong.. flatplane v8's ARE imbalanced, V10's CAN'T be flatplane, they ARE imbalanced, and also require split journals to be even firing.
..but what do *I* know about engines.. whatever, keep being an idiot troll.
What would be the most difficult challenge if I would want to swap the rb26 for stock engine on my 300zx (manual)? Also I would imagine that I wouldn't be able to do smog test if I would to do this; thus I can't get it to DMV. Sorry about my English.
was it a clean swap? or did you have to cut out the firewall?...im thinking about using my hazardous duty pay to make the same car, when i get back from iraq
the only upside is its easier to work on thats it. I warn everone wanting to do this swap. YOU CANNOT GET PARTS WHEN NEEDED. Also why put a smaller engine in a heavy car duh. The VG can handle 600whp+ on bone stock long block with a stock ecu. SpecialtyZ ran 9's on his stock vg auto. My buddy has an RB in his 240sx cam broke at the C.A.S 3 month wait VG go to autozone all parts in stock. pick you poison. the record for a bone stock motor and turbo VG is 500tq 480whp tuned+bolt ons RB not close
@DVcustomZ the rb26 is a much stronger engine than the VG straight six engines are always tougher then V6s, it has many advantages but weather its worth the money idk
@SerenityProddK You must not have experience with either motor or the platform.1) the z32 is a heavy beast and the VG makes more TQ than whp up till abt 450whp+ The RB does not 2) never take a bigger motor out for a smaller one.3) parts parts parts parts. Not saying the RB is a bad motor it is not. The VG broke the land speed record for its displacement 256mph Y not the RB?
that being said it all comes down to the basics. Does the end justify the means. There is only one upside to the RB the ease of working on it. most ppl who scream RB have never wrkd on one. Going by what they heard. My friend RB is still down because parts are on back order for months.
@SerenityProddK rb may be a lil stonger but the vg's have great low end power. Not waiting for the inline to hit 4-5k rpm to start building some solid boost. these vg's have just the same potential in my book. I would never build any of the cars past a certain point (700hp would be nice) anyways because of the drivability u lose when going for huge numbers. Plus the money is a issue also. unique build but waste of time imo. Go throw that rb in a datsun, Then u will have urself a MACHINE!!
@SerenityProddK if i had to replace the engine in my 300zx and money didn't matter, i'd throw in an rb26 just so i can say i did, but the VG is a very strong platform, 500+whp is very reliable and not too expensive to reach in comparison.
OMFG DAMMMMMMMMM. 300zx are like dark tan hot asian chiks fun ass hell no mater what you do with her. that RB26 sound made me think of the movie GODZILLA 2000. JDM daily dose of boost never jurts
both great motors...depends on what u like...the rb is capable of realy high hp...to were the v6 vg is just mor torquey then the i6.....the factory vg runs a bit more hp then the factory rb...the vg spool time is better....i dnt think its fair to say one is better then the other..
The rb engines were designed with that much horsepower in mind. the VG's weren't. it take a hell of a lot more than its worth to pull that kind of power out of em. rb all the way
U forgot the 2jz can hold mir power cuz it has a thick block and the rb26s blocis thin but all of nissans blocks are thin but i like rb26dett better than 2jz gte
Does anyone know what the wheels are?

DANIAL3W 1 year ago
@DANIAL3W both are good motors.
joe645733 1 year ago
@DANIAL3W RB26DETT 277 hp/293 tq 2JZGTE 320 hp / 315 tq the 2jz has a tad more tq and power but the supra weights bout 3250-3500 lbs as the skyline weights bout 3100-3400 lbs so the skyline is slightly weaker but is also slightly lighter and awd the supra is slightly more powerful but is heavier and rwd both are grat engines cuz both can handle up 2 900+hp on a stock block both sound wicked both get respect wen seen under the hood.its really upto your likes
rafaelislife5 1 year ago
Your exhaust must be the most awesome I have heard in times! What set are you using?
SorsanSuuriAfro 1 year ago
I agree single exhaust but. Like I always said 300zx has no engine bay room dat rb barely fits
rafaelislife5 1 year ago
@rafaelislife5 Have you seen the vg30tt or what?
Compared to that this rb has breathing space!
d240786 1 year ago
@d240786 i kno i'm jus sayin the 300zx has a hella short nose and yeah i kno how large the vg's r and how heavy they r also dat dont change da fact the rb still has little "breathing space"
rafaelislife5 1 year ago
@rafaelislife5 not many motors that have any power would have breathing space I'm just saying the rb26dett has more space than the vg30tt I know it's still rammed in there but the vg30tt literally has to be taken apart in the engine bay!
Anyway who really cares this guy is cool for doing a transplant that makes sense i.e. nissan for nissan and has chosen probably the most popular engine for 300zx tuners to transplant......
d240786 1 year ago
@d240786 no dout bro it is a clean swap and a great engine and i agree wit u i hate inter-company swaps like a 2jz ina s2k. no not 4 me but i am pretty sure he probably had a shell cuz the vg is a decent power house and can easily put out 400hp wit mild upgrades like larger turbos ,large front mount ,boost controller mild tune it'll get ya there. now wit da money u spend on swapping any rb u can build a stronger vg.

@xRicanReaperx rb's are all inline motors buddy.. If its single turbo, that usually means big power, and one exhaust.. If its a twin setup, almost all skylines run one pipe...
Chaoutzu 1 year ago
@Chaoutzu i know it's a joke like ha ha ha
xRicanReaperx 1 year ago
@xRicanReaperx the twin exhaust on this car was because it had a twin turbo v6 in it now it has a straight 6 which makes it too wierd to do a dual exhaust on this swap.

xRicanReaperx 1 year ago
@xRicanReaperx .. its a straight six.. what point would a y pipe serve?
epixtuff 1 year ago
@xRicanReaperx The RB26DETT is a straight 6, and this is a single turbo converted motor, therefore: 1 turbo, 1 down pipe, 1 turbo back exhaust system. The TT V6 needed 2 separate exhaust systems because it was a V motor, and utilized twin turbos. It would make zero sense to split a single turbo car into dual exhaust. Yes that means your SRT-4 owners.

MrOrosco93 1 year ago
Hey at least he kept it in the Nissan family. lol I much rather have the V motor than an inline motor. That is just me though. I think the VG motor is a prettier motor than the RB26. I like the duel exhaust because of the VG instead of the one exhaust. Looks goofy to me. Now I would rather see that RB motor go into something like a 240sx s14 or s15. Now that would be nice. Be the Z heritage simply should stay with the VG motor.

StrongInChrist 1 year ago
To those askin why rb and not vg first of all it's a project car it's called doing something different I'm sure they have done some Vgs and even though my love is my tt z I must say that the rb does rev faster hince the 2.6 which I doubt this one is still at
MrTulsa 1 year ago
@MrTulsa sure it REVS faster, but the vg has good down low grunt that u want to have. I LOVE inlines dont get me wrong, but hate how bad they lag without a proper setup. Like a fully built 2jz, u floor it, u wait for it, u wait for it, still waiting, then boom a huge spike in power which leads to wheelspin!! damn it
mkIIIsupras 1 year ago
@mkIIIsupras that is entirely dependant on the particular set-up. boost lag can be had on a v6, v8 or anything else with an oversived turbo.
just being an inline 6 doesnt make it prone to lag.
originaldriver 1 year ago
@mkIIIsupras is this power spike mostly true on inline 6 engines even tho they r tuned properly? or just dependent on how well the engine is set up?
shinobi1203 1 year ago

silver40s14 1 year ago
what type of spoiler is that and were can i get it
podye1 1 year ago
rb26 uses a flat planed crankshaft and a VG30dett uses a crossplaned which all v6 uses therefore v6 and v8 are inefficient engines unlike a inline 6, v10, v12, unless if a ferrari v8 which has a 180 degree crank not a 90 degree.
seamless4 1 year ago
@seamless4
I can almost bet my left nutsack that the Ferrari F430 has a 90 degree V8 engine setup. I believe it is the same case with the 458 Italia as it reuses the same engine.
c0nv1ct1337 1 year ago
no it doesnt you stupid idiot
seamless4 1 year ago
@seamless4

I am right. You shouldn't call anyone a stupid idiot if you haven't done your own homework moron. Next time, shut your fcken trap.
Engine specification for F430
Type: 90° V8
Bore/stroke: 92 mm x 81 mm 3.50 x 3.03 cu in
Unit displacement: 538.5 cc 32.86 cu in
Total displacement: 4,308 cc 262.89 cu in
Compression ratio: 11.3:1
c0nv1ct1337 1 year ago
oh sorry 2010 f30 use 90 degree v8 theve only been using flat plane v8 for 30 years its the first year theve used it buddy you make it sound like theve been using them for years
seamless4 1 year ago
@seamless4 flatplane/crossplane doesn't actually affect efficiency at all. The distinction between the two is how the engine vibrations are handled. A flatplane V design requires balance shafts, a crossplane only requires counterweights, and inlines don't have 2nd order vibrations so they can be either.
snivesz32 1 year ago
ya it does dumbass they dont fire in paralell the fire order is all over the place
usually fires on one side more then once. which causes exhaust inbalence hence the balance tubes on v6 or v8 engines unlike a flatplane v8 v10 v12 they run perfect.
if you knew anything about engine performance you would have shut your mouth and agreed with me.
seamless4 1 year ago
@seamless4 Oh my god, that's not called balance, you Jeg's reading troll! You are talking about even or odd firing order, which only makes exhaust scavenging more convenient. The topic WAS intrinsic balance between crank styles, engine configuration/bank angles.
BTW your list is wrong.. flatplane v8's ARE imbalanced, V10's CAN'T be flatplane, they ARE imbalanced, and also require split journals to be even firing.
..but what do *I* know about engines.. whatever, keep being an idiot troll.
snivesz32 1 year ago
What would be the most difficult challenge if I would want to swap the rb26 for stock engine on my 300zx (manual)? Also I would imagine that I wouldn't be able to do smog test if I would to do this; thus I can't get it to DMV. Sorry about my English.

theusedknife 1 year ago
the only upside is its easier to work on thats it.
DVcustomZ 1 year ago
@DVcustomZ the rb26 is a much stronger engine than the VG straight six engines are always tougher then V6s, it has many advantages but weather its worth the money idk
SerenityProddK 1 year ago 11
@SerenityProddK You must not have experience with either motor or the platform.1) the z32 is a heavy beast and the VG makes more TQ than whp up till abt 450whp+ The RB does not 2) never take a bigger motor out for a smaller one.3) parts parts parts parts. Not saying the RB is a bad motor it is not. The VG broke the land speed record for its displacement 256mph Y not the RB?
DVcustomZ 1 year ago
@DVcustomZ Come on, guys, both engines have their upsides.
Ryoukun16 1 year ago
that being said it all comes down to the basics. Does the end justify the means. There is only one upside to the RB the ease of working on it. most ppl who scream RB have never wrkd on one. Going by what they heard. My friend RB is still down because parts are on back order for months.
DVcustomZ 1 year ago
